YMMV / Nickelodeon Super Brawl

Go To

  • Awesome Music:
    • All of the title themes are brilliant, especially: Super Brawl, Super Brawl Summer, Super Fall Brawl, Super Brawl 2, and Super Brawl 3.
    • As far as stages there’s:
      • Krusty Krab/Dutchman’s Ship/Sandy’s Dome (The Krusty Krab includes a relaxing tune that inspired the one in the other two stages. The ship and Sandy’s Dome have the same song, but they’re different stages).
      • Zeenu/Baseball Field (Different stages but two versions of the same song. It’s a remix of Jimmy Neutron’s theme song).
      • Petropolis from T.U.F.F. Puppy is insanely catchy and has a cool guitar sound to it.
      • Central Park Zoo/Penguin Lair is very good as well, it’s three distinct songs masterfully synthesized into one beautiful loop.
      • The music in Fanlair/Frosty Mart from Fanboy and Chum Chum is pretty generic, but they're still interesting stages to listen to. They’re two versions of one song with slight differences in each stage.
      • Farm Road from Back at the Barnyard features a nice track with a smooth banjo sound to it.
      • The background music on Kyle’s stage (the school) also is pretty great.
      • Bessie’s theme (Pier 31) is a sweet remix of her show’s theme.
      • Fans of Danny Phantom’s opening song will enjoy fighting in Amity Park.
      • Timmy’s stage “Fairy World” has no business being as groovy as it is. (It’s a remix of the show’s theme).
      • Coney Island Hideout has a techno sound that has a complex sequence that is amazing.
      • Goo Lagoon is Patrick’s stage. It’s a remix of Super Brawl Summer’s theme, but it’s a perfect loop and uses different instruments.
      • King Julian's stage, the Jungle, is also a cool remix of “I Like to Move It” from the Madagascar movies.
      • Super Brawl 3 also has a spectacular battle theme.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • For the brief time he was in Super Fall Brawl Sheen was more or less unstoppable with a powerful special that was difficult to punish as well as some other strong attacks he could easily combo into. This video should give you an idea on how broken he was and why he was removed from the game. His associated stage "The House of Pain" was definitely a fitting way to describe how dangerous he truly was. When he returned in 2 he was obviously {nerfed, but even then he was still one of the strongest characters in the game.
    • In Super Brawl, Summer and Fall (after the aforementioned Sheen was removed in the case of Fall), Dr. Blowhole was the undisputed Master of All. He had it all, fast attacking speed, great damage, being a heavyweight, great health, possessing the best special attack in the game, which consists of three screen wide lasers in rapid succession, and ease of juggling other characters. He pretty much made which other characters were viable if they could hold their ground against him! His one weakness was that small characters like Timmy and Chum Chum stood too low to be hit by his punch attacks.
    • Blowhole may have been nerfed in 2, but in his place came a new Master of All, in the form of (ironically enough) Skipper. His kicks have very little (if any) endlag, his shuriken attack is highly-spammable (even the AI spams it!), and his Limit Break has him drop bombs that do absurd amounts of damage.
    • Kyle's special attack is the single most broken move in 2. It summons a thundercloud that appears above his opponent's head before striking them with lightning. The lightning has a large enough hitbox that even walking away from it is not enough to avoid damge, and blocking the attack does not reduce the amount of damage. Not only that, but Kyle himself gets invincibility frames upon starting the attack, making the move nearly impossible to avoid or counter.
  • Low-Tier Letdown:
    • King Julien in 2 is unique in that he's a Puppet Fighter who has Mort fighting alongside him. Unfortunately, Mort isn't particularly useful, as Julien will stand in place and dance anytime Mort is used to attack, meaning using both characters simultaneously is not possible. Aside from this gimmick, the rest of Julien's moveset is nothing to write home about.
    • Timmy's attacks are among the slowest in the game, especially his special move, making it difficult for him to actually do anything against his opponent. His super move actually does good damage if he gets to use it, but getting to that point is more trouble than it's worth given the rest of his moveset.
  • Spiritual Successor:
    • The 2009 Nick.com game SmashFest serves as an origin to both Super Brawl and All-Star Brawl.
    • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has a similar name and some of the characters that are in that game first appeared in this series. The main difference would be that that game is a platform fighter designed for consoles.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Despite his status in that game (See Game-Breaker above for more details), many people did not take kindly to Sheen being removed from Super Fall Brawl instead of simply being nerfed until his return in 2.
