• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: An In-Universe example, as Naruto thought it was odd that Iruka would just randomly mention One Piece in the first episode.
• Broken Base: Episode nine. Some thought it was funny, while others were disappointed in the two year wait.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Kaiza eating Gilligan's dog and replying that he tasted great does it already, but apparently LittleKuriboh and PurpleEyesWTF decided it wasn't enough, so Kaiza reveals he ate the children who drowned Gilligan and they also tasted great.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Parodied with The Rower in Episode 6. Naruto thinks he's amazing despite the fact that he has done NOTHING except... well, row a boat.
    "Oh my God! You are The Rower! I am such a huge fan!"
  • Sasuke is one for the show itself. Ironic considering his Base-Breaking Character status in the original series.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The joke about the "Pokemon Bridge" collapsing in on itself becomes very hard to swallow after Pokémon The 'Bridged Series was abruptly cancelled and its creators split up after it was revealed that 1KidsEntertainment had been abusing Nowacking and Jerry for years.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • In the movie, Japanese George Lucas said he's about to make Star Wars Episode VII. Although Lucas didn't direct this time, Disney later made episode seven, The Force Awakens after acquiring Lucasfilms.
  • In the movie credits, it's said hot naked men did fall from the sky, but Sakura failing to see it. Cue chapter 682 of the manga with Naruto's reverse harem jutsu, showing hot naked men falling from the sky all while Sakura present to see it.
  • Guess who else abused the pig rape joke and got backlash for it?
  • One of the episodes features the throwaway line "Renee Zellweger wants her face back!" A few years later, Zellweger would have a fairly prominent facelift done, so it comes off more prophetic than anything.
  • One of the things this series would roast Naruto: The Abridged Series for was its Schedule Slip, which becomes the Pot Calling the Kettle "Black" when episode 9 takes two years to get released in 2014 and, as of 2021, hasn't updated since.
• Ho Yay: Naruto is subjected to a lot of these moments.
  Naruto: (about Haku) Oh my God this chick is fucking HOT!
  Haku: [Actually I'm a guy.]
  Naruto: Oh my God this guy is fucking HOT!
  • Naruto has also explicitly said to be attracted to Sasuke (particularly episode 3), and mentions buttsex with him several times during the series. But other times, he says he's not gay. It mostly depends on what's funnier.
    • In the movie, he claims Sakura is a lesbian because she's in love with Sasuke. So maybe the answer is that he thinks Sasuke is a girl.
• Memetic Badass: In-universe, the Rower... but only in Naruto's opinion.
• Misaimed Fandom: Many YouTube commenters who like the videos miss the point of a lot of the jokes.
• Shallow Parody: LittleKuriboh admits that he's not that knowledgeable about Naruto. However, some of the jokes at Naruto the Abridged Series can come off as this too, since there's a tendency to exaggerate one-off gags (like the Mermaid Melody fandub gag) like as if it was an Overused Running Gag, or its use of low-brow toilet humor that was non-existent in NTAS (like Naruto farting the alphabet, the Overly Long Gag of Naruto pissing on Inari, or the joke about Naruto having sex with a dead pig).
