YMMV / Kiff

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor: "Everyday I'm Riddlin' Riddlin'" has Helen thrown headfirst into a ditch. Considering how unpleasant and petty she can be to everyone around her, it is very satisfying to see.
  • Comedy Ghetto: Like Big City Greens before it, the show has often been dismissed by older viewers simply for being an episodic comedy as opposed to more serious and story-driven like Amphibia or The Owl House, and is considered by fans to be a "step down" for Disney TVA solely for this reason rather than for any faults of its own.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Michaela Oats, one of the high school students, is a figurative and literal example. She gained many fans after her debut in "Big Barry on Campus" for her cool attitude and funny facial expressions.
  • Memetic Mutation: Kiff is king yo! Explanation
  • Mis-blamed: Along with some other shows, the show is wrongfully blamed for the cancellation of The Owl House despite the cancellation happening well before Kiff was greenlit, with it just happening to be the next show in the pipeline when TOH ended, making it a coincidence, along with the Kiff crew obviously having nothing to do with the decision.
  • Moe:
    • Kiff herself, as well as most of the cast.
    • Special mention should go to Kristophe in "Farley".
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • "Totally Table Town" introduces Ghost Wolf, who scares lost children to safety, and needless to say is excellent at his job.
    • "Foreverangees" involves a cursed national park where, if two best friends refuse to look at each other after a disagreement, they are turned to stone forever. Said curse claims Kiff and Barry's entire class, and then nearly claims Kiff and Barry. Thankfully they were able to reverse the curse, but this was still an Unexpectedly Dark Episode for such a light-hearted show.
  • Squick:
    • Barry's family shares bathwater. Yuck. This is made even worse when considering that it is the subject of an entire episode.
    • Kiff stuffing her cheeks with cheese in "Friendship in The Time of Cheese Caves" wouldn't be so bad if she didn't sloppily spit it back out afterwards.
    • "Life On The Inside" has Ms. Deer Teacher demonstrate why you shouldn't eat too many hotdogs and drink too many fizzy drinks at once. Said demonstration releases an explosion of hotdog slurry on everyone in class.
  • Ugly Cute: Ghost Wolf, after we learn he only LOOKS scary, and when we hear him actually speak full sentences in "Ghost Wolf's Art".
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: It is quite easy to mistake Principal Secretary's gender for a female because of his eyelashes. But overall, he is a male.
    • Likewise, Renee has been mistaken for male.
