  • Dry Docked Ship: Daryl/Crackerdile is sometimes read by fans as being a bitter ex after he exclaims his jealousy of Brash in Braver and Boulder and a line in which he says "We used to be friends, Brash. But now I've got a CRUSH on you!"
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Cilantro for her Adorkable personality.
  • Epileptic Trees: After the end of Off The Hook, a number of fans speculated that Cilantro would be the main villian in the next book. This was eventually jossed in Ants in Our P.A.N.T.S.
  • Friendly Fandoms: InvestiGators fans tend to get along well with fans of Dog Man and The Bad Guys as all 3 book series have Funny Animal characters and have themes of friendship and growing up.
  • Growing the Beard: While Volume One had established the conflict between Brash and Daryl/Crackerdile well enough, Ants in Our P.A.N.T.S. really shows the emotional burden that Brash goes through after losing his best friend and how he's slowly forgiving himself for what had happened in the past and it all wraps up nicely in Braver and Boulder.
  • Ho Yay: The main duo, Mango and Brash, and sometimes Brash and Daryl.
  • Moe: Baby Brash in Ants in Our P.A.N.T.S. with his adorable eyes and Elmuh Fudd Syndwome.
  • Periphery Demographic: Teens and adults love reading this series just as much as kids for its artstyle, puns and interesting characters.
  • The Woobie:
    • Brash's experiences with witnessing Daryl's 'death', the trauma he deals with afterwards and almost dying himself makes you want to comfort him.
    • Cilantro could also count as such during her first introduction in Off the Hook.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion:
    • C-ORB is mostly assumed to be male as it's eye colour is blue. However it has a female text-to-speech voice in the BatteryPOP shorts.
    • The female agents Marsha and Cilantro do not have Tertiary Sexual Characteristics.
