- Alternate Character Interpretation: Severus Snape, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Harry's sense of Heroism, Percy's love for his family, etc...In fact 90% of the characters got a new interpretation by this fic. Not that this is a bad thing and is very well done, barely changing the core personalities from the book.
- Fridge Horror: The fact that the older witches teach the younger girls how to perform a castrating curse as a rite of passage. Makes you wonder how many times it's used on poor, unsuspecting boys or why the girls need to use it?
- Genius Bonus: Apparently Pansy Parkinson's family includes the Borgias.
- Heartwarming Moments: The fic is this when is not Fridge Brilliance or Moment of Awesome. From Snape growing relationship with Harry, the faculty's sense of responsibility and protection, the inter-house friendship and just those cute moments, it would make your faith in humanity be restored by chapter 10.
- Iron Woobie: Harry Potter and Severus Snape.
- Jerkass Woobie: Snape and to the Fic's credit, it managed to maintain his Jerkass attitude with the heartwarming moments.
- Moe: Harry's so happy with Snape, it will ROT your teeth.
- Tear Jerker: Pretty much anytime we're reminded of the past 10 years of Harry's existence.
- The Woobie: Eleven-year-old Harry, so very much.
