  • Funny Moments: The May 2019 issue has a page detailing video game-based socks that you can buy, all of which have fairly standard descriptions... and then there's "Horrifying Blue Boy Socks".
    GAH.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The April 2016 Game Infarcer made fun of Telltale Games for sticking to the formula in their games. This eventually became a vocal criticism of the company, and Telltale would end up dissolving just over two years later.
  • He Panned It, Now He Sucks!: In contrast to the obviously humorous Sacred Cow Barbeque, the magazine's rather scathing contemporary review of Silent Hill 2 was evidently not done as a joke, and fans went justifiably ballistic because the magazine —for reasons still at large— tapped a reviewer who admitted to both preferring twitch/action games and openly detesting Survival Horror as a genre. While the logic behind this choice was somewhat sound (i.e. "If this guy likes it, then it must be great!"), assigning the review to a writer with a professed bias against games like it also had a very obvious flaw (i.e. "If this guy hates it, that might not mean it's actually terrible."). Their continued potshots at the game and disbelief at its sales numbers in several subsequent issues didn't help in smoothing things over, either. GI would subsequently praise the game in retrospective articles, and unlike many of their other "retro" reviews, they never even bothered to archive this one, indicating they want it to remain forgotten.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In their inaugural Game Infarcer section in 2006, one of their editors (who claimed to have played games that hadn't come out yet) left a "spoiler" that Donald died in Kingdom Hearts III. Donald does indeed die, as does everyone in the first attempt at taking on the Demon Tide in the Keyblade Graveyard.
    • The April 2012 Game Infarcer parodies the Nintendo 3DS's 3D being a gimmick many people try just once with a DataFile entitled "Nintendo 2DS?". In it, they say that every 3DS has a defect where the 3D slider doesn't work, so people are forced to play 3DS games in 2D (which they're fine with, as Nintendo has received no complaints about this). In August 2013, Nintendo would announce the Nintendo 2DS, a handheld in the 3DS line that's otherwise identical in hardware and performance to its predecessors save for the removal of the 3D function, so people have an officially-supported way to play 3DS games exclusively in 2D.
    • The April 2011 Game Infarcer had an article about the last remaining subscriber to Final Fantasy XIV, whose character is named “Chocobro”. The player in question, when talking about his favorite feature, gets the game mixed up with the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft. Not only would A Realm Reborn, widely considered to be a massive jump in quality for the game, be similar to Cataclysm in terms of game system changes and effect on the world, but in mid-2021 WoW would see a large number of players leaving it for FFXIV. “Chocobros” would also end up being a popular Fan Nickname for the party of Final Fantasy XV.
  • So Bad, It's Good: A common feature on Replay and Super Replay. It even became an annual tradition to do a Super Replay of a bad survival horror game every New Year's.
