- Awesome Music: The premise of the game being a musical platformer means that it’s naturally full of these, especially with the likes of Daniel Ingram working on it:
- "I've Had Enough Of You", sung by Michael Kovach, is a bombastic Villain Song for Fantoccio that gives quite the first impression of what's to come in the game.
- "A Million Gruesome Ways To Die", sung by Black Gryph0n, is both funky and bone-chilling, a perfect representation of Barnaby's goofy and murderous nature.
- "The Pirate Queen's Cave is the Worst!" is a sea-shanty style "The Villain Sucks" Song sung by Sean Chiplock that show’s off Scrimshaw’s pipes while he warns Billie of the danger’s of Elaine's lair. And while the creator's have stated it to be the only song in the game without gameplay, it also provides helpful hints for the player to remember while they’re navigating the puzzles between Billie and Elaine’s treasure.
- Creepy Cute: Barnaby, no doubt. Besides being animated in what appears to be an entirely different style from the rest of the characters, he also seems otherworldly, being able to twist his face and contort himself in unnerving ways. His borderline psychotic pursuit of the player only adds to the creepiness. To offset this, he's quite charming and filled with childish, whimsical joy.
- Fridge Brilliance: It's no wonder Barnaby is in denial about Billie not wanting to die and join his party. Judging from the number of ghosts singing and partying with him, he's already had plenty of willing participants.
- Fan Nickname: "Rad Magic Dad" for Aristotle, even used regularly by the developers.
- Friendly Fandoms:
- With Hazbin Hotel, due to three of the characters in the game sharing voice actors regarding Hazbin's pilot (Fantoccio with Angel Dust, Aristotle and Barnaby with Alastor).
- Also has one with The Amazing Digital Circus, because in addition to Kovach (Fantoccio with Jax), it also has Ashley Nichols (Belle with Zooble) and Sean Chiplock (Scrimshaw with Kinger).
- Preemptive Shipping: Fans began shipping Fantoccio and Barnaby - two male characters, one of whom is dead - long before the game even got a release date.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Barnaby looks more like a demented 2D cartoon character than a 3D platformer character, and this brilliantly highlights his strange powers and utter madness.
- Viewer Species Confusion: Some first-time viewers miss the horns and initially believe Billie to be a rabbit due to her long ears.
