A Bittersweet Life is a Korean Webtoon by Donggeon Lee.

It follows people from various walks of life, including a working single woman, a long-time couple, a dog, and an anthropomorphic bunny. The official English translation ran from September 27, 2014, to April 8, 2016.

It is set in the same universe as Yumi's Cells and by extension Daily JoJo.

A Bittersweet Life contains examples of:

  • Big Brother Bully: Nani forces her brother to run errands so she can laze about and threatens him when he refuses. He wishes she would get married so she would stop nagging him.
  • Brutal Honesty: Bunny doesn't mince words when people come to him for advice. If they try to say something other than what they mean, Bunny translates it for them. If they ask why someone else doesn't want to date them, Bunny plainly says they're not interested.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Episode 86 follows the evolution of Gyungtae Kim's nicknames. He gets the nickname "Byeonbi Kim" after getting constipated. It gets shortened to "Byeon Kim" and then lengthened to "Byeongyungtae Kim", then shortened again to "Byeontae", which means "pervert". It sticks after he graduates, and then a woman calls him a "byeontae freak" (perverted freak) when she overhears the nickname and he tries to explain it to her.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: In the final episode, Heunghoon and Dongsu prepare to part ways, only for them to end up sticking together for longer until the warm feeling of saying goodbye has fizzled out.
  • Ghost in the Machine: Bob Joh has little people inside that work his heart, mouth, eyes, and brain. There is also a bum in his stomach that makes him hungry in spite of the brain's laziness.
  • Medal of Dishonor: In Episode 22, Bunny gathers the main four for the Bitter Awards. The awards are for the highest credit card bill (shared between the two women), most unpaid taxes, and the grand prize with specific requirements of being a lonely, single loser.
  • Milestone Birthday Angst: When everyone's turning 30 at the end of the year, the girls are upset that someone had to bring that up. Nani acts nonchalant, claiming she's still 29 because she started school early, which nobody buys. She gets violent when they call her out on her lies. The next year, Nani claims she's still 29 because her birthday hasn't passed yet, even though Korean ages aren't tied to birthdays, and gets violent again. On her actual birthday, Nani has run out of excuses and pushes a candle into the cake to express her disappointment.
  • My Future Self and Me: In Episode 124, Donggeon's future selves time travel to tell him to stop putting off his date with Jisook in Myeongdong, but none of them ended up going on that date. The last Donggeon is married with at least four kids and says he's a prisoner.
  • Shared Universe: Nani makes a cameo in Yumi's Cells, which in turn shares a universe with Daily JoJo.
  • Shout-Out: Episode 144 explores the inner workings of Bob Joh's body in the fashion of Yumi's Cells. It features his heart, mouth, eyes, brain, and a bum in his stomach.
  • Slice of Life: The webcomic is made of skits that follow the lives of various people.
  • Twice Shy: Bob Joh is interested in a cashier but is sure that everything she's going to say is part of her job. Once he leaves, she looks out the window as he leaves.
