Black Key Incubus is a webcomic written by Jimmy Schleisman and drawn by Daryl Toh, also known for his work on Cheat(er) Code. In an attempt to prove his abilities, wizard-in-training Norman Castor casts a summoning spell, which turns out to have been powerful enough to bring forth the demon Caliban. It soon turns out that Norman got into a lot more than he bargained for.

A kickstarter ran in 2021 for a physical volume, containing the first six chapters. There was a re-print in 2022, but there's been no more physical releases since.

The webcomic was last updated in July 2023. No confirmation if the series is cancelled or just on hiatus.

Can be found on Webtoons and Tapas.

The webcomic provides examples of:

  • Battle Royale Game: Caliban participates in on, and cameras exist on Earth that broadcast the events to Hell.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Norman lost his parents at a young age and was raised by his grandmother. It's part of the reason he wants to get better at magic: to find them.
  • Gay Guy Seeks Popular Jock: While at the gym, Norman is shown checking out one of the buff guys working out there.
  • Gym Bunny: Norman is partly one, as he works out.
  • Mind over Matter: After having a nightmare, Norman was able to levitate everything in his room.
  • Second Love: It appears that Liam may be this for Belphegor, as he gets the soulmate glow shortly after they meet.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Caliban and Belphagor are both contestants in the Kai'Ba, though there also seems to be some personal beef thrown into the mix.
  • Succubi and Incubi: Cal is an incubus and feeds through sexual energy, which includes sex. However, it is also possible for him to feed through non-sexual intimacy, such as a hug.
  • Succubus in Love: An incubus, almost immediately after being summoned on Earth, Cal realizes Norman is his soulmate, and the two eventually admit their feelings for each other.
  • The Lost Lenore: Belphegor's as-of-yet-unnamed love interest is dead, and occasionally appears as a ghostly apparition.
