- The return of John Smith - Some had theorize he would pull out this disguise once again in volume 6 to work behind the scenes and tarnish the reputation of Iris and her Crimson Order while systematically killing off any corrupt knights and secret cult members. All for the sake of super-elite agent roleplay he didn't have the chance to act out the last time.
- The return of Mundane Mann - If he plans on meeting Annerose again in the Velgata Empire.
- Instructor or teacher to play the role of Evil Mentor
- Cryptid or demon
- The specter of a dead person
- A sentai ranger/villain
- A monstrous-looking One-Winged Angel form and subsequent Bishōnen Line with him pretending that they are his "true" form

Cid's concussion carried over
Before dying, he hit his head against a tree; the damage was never fixed, which is why he's so deluded. Cid/Shadow will bring the rise of a new generation of heroes
He probably needs them because without heroes, how can he be the Eminence in Shadow if there are no heroes to help within the shadows. There will be a Mood Whiplash in Cid's character arc
It would be revealed that prior to being reincarnated, Cid's obsessions drove his real parents to pawn him off to another family who also got so fed up with him and pawn him off too and so on and so on. At one point, he did feel guilt and shame but his childhood dream overrides all sense of logic and still lingers even after his death.- Jossed. Cid reveals in Volume 4 that Kageno Minoru's parents and his dog John (the golden retriever that Delta reminds him of) moved to America sometime previous to his death. However, he still lived in Japan until then, which may indicate some sort of alienation between them.
Princess Alexia will ally with Shadow Garden
When things get dire like her kingdom under threat by some large force like the Diabolos cult and her sister, Iris too obsessed with beating Shadow, Alexia may decides to help Shadow Garden by giving them access, maybe to riches, potential hideouts etc. The series ending will be hilarious
Shadow will have a final battle with the true Big Bad. Shadow Garden and the world will believe Cid/Shadow died saving the world..... except that he actually survived and is in hiding to finally finish his dream as an Eminence in Shadow. While everyone moves on in a new, free world, Cid lives a mundane life till he's an old man. Then, he finally let's go of his Eight Grade Syndrome and becomes a hormone-induced teenager and decides to live his dream as a Harem Seeker. The End! Akane will reincarnate to Eminence in Shadow
It'll be an interesting premise where another reincarnator appears there and becomes either a new romantic interest to Cid, a rival to him or both. Plus given their history together, that'll lead to some very funny misunderstandings.- Alexia or Iris will believe that Akane is in league with Shadow and Shadow Garden.
- Shadow Garden will think that Akane is Shadow's lover to their dismay and jealousy.
- Rose will think that Akane is dating Cid but at the same time cheating on him with Shadow which would bring out both her anger and jealousy.
- Jossed: In Volume 4 of the Light Novel, Cid and Beta are transported to Japan some 3 years after the death of Kageno Minoru. Akane is still alive and 20 years old. On top of that, Beta later kidnaps her and drags her back to their world (unbeknownst to Cid). So she does travel to Cid's new world, but NOT via reincarnation.
Eminence in Shadow will appear in Isekai Quartet
- Since Kadokawa is the one who announces the anime of Eminence in Shadow, it's most likely the characters will appear.
- Both Pandora's Actor and Megumin will take a liking to Cid.
- Beta will become friends with Beatrice and Mare due to their love for books.
- Delta will prey on Hamsuke.
Cid is an Unreliable Narrator
Cid is good at pretty much everything he does. He would border on being a boring Invincible Hero, if it weren't for the fact he doesn't really know what's going on. Everything he does is by guess and luck, which makes him come off as a comedic idiot. Exactly as planned.Cid wouldn't want us (the readers) to think he was anything special. He can't come off as the mob character to us like he does to the people around him. So instead he pretends that he is ignorant. That something is a guess when he knows exactly what he is doing. Ignores the villains ranting about the Cult so that he can continue to pretend he thinks they don't exist.The true master of the Diablos Cult is an isekai like Cid
The Diablos Cult has unique knowledge from Earth. The Knights of the Round hierarchy and names like Mordred are from the King Arthur fables. It has developed strange concepts well known to Earthlings, but alien to the other world, such as performance-enhancing narcotics for magic. There are hints of genetic manipulation (or at the least selective breeding) as a hidden Cult mega project. The Cult also knew how to engineer a credit crisis, something the Seven Shades were unable to foresee as possible, but a knowledgeable person from Earth would understand... however the Cult could not execute their plan before Cid did.In other words, he uses his gut instinct to always do the right thing to promote his organization's goals. He's just unaware of his gift. Sherry and Eta will meet each other
Considering the fact they are both researchers, it would be shocking if they don't each other at all. Predictions for the Series
- Iris will continue to be gaslighted by the Cult of Diabolos to pursue Shadow. After the King of Midgar somehow can no longer rule, Iris'll take the throne and go full-on tyrant.
- Princess Alexia will assemble any allies she can to uproot the cult's influence out of her kingdom, recruiting Natsuma Kafka, Claire Kagenou and Christina. She'll confront Iris and take her down.
- Cid will learn about Alexia's missions and decides to be "the villain" by sabotaging the government, meaning killing corrupt knights and politicians and cause civil unrest resulting in Civil War.
- Cid and Shadow Garden will go from kingdom to kingdom to free them from the cult's grasps including Velgata and Rawagas City, where we'll meet Annerose and Sherry again.
- Claire, by accident, eventually finds out about her brother's true nature as Shadow, at first, she will be angry at why he hid his true power from her by playing victim, however, after their reconciliation, she comes to an agreement to join Shadow Garden not solely as a protector but as equals, though she will keep her name and be ranked among the Shades, making up for the lack of magic with her skills.
Cid is a Reality Warper along the lines of Haruhi Suzumiya.
- He brought the Cult of Diabolos into being through an act of will without realizing it. All this crazy stuff is happening because he is causing it to happen with his chuuni fantasies. The memories of everyone else are altered to think things always existed this way.
