I.RULE is a fan-game of The Binding of Isaac made by the user DoctorHummer, which adapts the game Plants vs. Zombies into the setting of Isaac, with babies summoned via hearts.

Released in an early alpha state since February of 2022, the game can be found here.

Tropes found in this fan-game:

  • Action Bomb: On the enemy side, Mullibooms. They'll attempt to rush the first baby they come in contact with to explode and destroy all babies in its radius. They can be defused with ice and wind attacks to prevent any explosions upon reaching a unit.
  • An Ice Person: The Freezer Baby shoots ice shots to slow down enemies it hits.
  • Expy: While plenty of preexisting Babies, both official and unofficial to Isaac, serve similar purposes to various plants in the PVZ games, an actual example of this trope would be the Spike Baby, who is based on the Spikeweed plants, both functionally and design-wise.
  • Homing Projectile: The Little Steven unit fires shots that home in on enemies in the other two lanes, but are consequently expensive; at two hundred points/four hearts. The Telepathy For Dummies active item allows for any offensive unit to gain this property.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Mega Plum's exaggerated sad face upon defeat is based off the "Sad SpongeBob" meme, originating from the SpongeBob episode "Christmas Who?"
    • The end of Middle Horn's death animation is a recreation of Peter Griffin's state after he falls down a flight of stairs.
  • Spikes of Doom:
    • Spike Baby, the equivalent to the Spikeweed/Spikerocks, damages enemies that pass over them.
    • The spike traps of the third area, The Ark. Though, it isn't so much as dangerous as it simply prevents you from placing your babies, limiting your workspace. Meanwhile, it retracts into the ground for enemies that pass over it.
  • Spread Shot: Downplayed with the Wiz Baby and Harlequin Baby, who fire double the normal amount into two neighboring lanes, but are generally vulnerable to the front.
  • Starting Units: At the start of every run, you're gifted the bare essentials: heart-regenerating Little C.H.A.D, standard offense Brother Bobby, Stone Wall Cube of Meat, and explosive Bob's Brain.
  • Stone Wall: The Cube of Meat, Tooth & Nail, Dry Baby, Juicy Sack and Ball of Bandages have the most health of any baby, intended to stall most enemies from reaching the other side by taking the brunt of the damage.
    • Tooth & Nail doubles as offense due to the spiked body harming attackers.
    • Dry Baby works like a normal defensive unit, but will explode upon depleting its health, taking out all enemies in its radius.
    • Juicy Sack takes this trope a step further, slowing enemies in its radius, including above and below.
    • Ball of Bandages attracts enemies from the other lanes, with the caveat of getting possibly overwhelmed and taken out quickly.
  • Support Party Member: Multidimensional Baby, like in the original Isaac game, duplicates the projectiles that pass through it, effectively doubling the damage output.
  • Toilet Humor: Of course piles of poop would be prevalent in an Isaac fan-game, generally being obstacles that block your ammunition. They also come in the more useful frozen and golden variants, which freezes enemies nearby and drop multiple coins respectively upon getting destroyed. The Poop active item is even available and, while generally useless, is required to initiate the "Brown Ritual" to unlock the Fiend Baby. How to Unlock...
