Aaahh!!! Real Monsters is a Platform, Adventure video game based on the Klasky Csupo cartoon of the same name. It revolves around the main trio needing to scare humans together in order to pass their Monster Academy midterm. It was released on August 15, 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis.

The trio have to traverse through The Dump, a School, a Post Office, a Museum, the Mall, and Simon's House. They each have their own abilities and scaring tactics to defeat their enemies. When a level is completed, the Gromble will reward them with a specific item. The Snorch also briefly appears as a boss.

This video game provides examples of:

  • Adapted Out: While Ickis, Krumm, Oblina, The Gromble, The Snorch and Zombo are present, all of the other students of the academy aren't in the game at all
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The trio's abilities all use an alliteration: Frightening Fling for Ickis, Eerie Eye Ejector for Krumm, and Tower of Terror for Oblina.
  • Final-Exam Boss: A literal final-exam boss. Simon the Monster Hunter is the game's last boss. Defeating him is required to pass the Gromble's assignment.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: Human characters are used as enemies.
  • Human Ladder: In this game's case, Monster Ladder. Oblina's ability is to have Ickis and Krumm climb up her to reach high places.
  • Invincibility Power-Up: A diaper is used for this, as it makes the monsters temporarily invincible.
  • Menacing Museum: The museum level has dinosaur skeletons with harmful spikes, along with a robotic dinosaur that drops eggs on the monsters. There are also tar pits that will slow you down.
  • Mighty Glacier: Although he is strong, Krumm has poor jumping.
  • Photo Memento: Completing the game results in one of the three monsters having a photo taken of them.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Ickis is the smallest monster, but he is also the most agile.
  • Power-Up Food: Disgusting items like maggots, roaches, fleas, and apple cores will act as health items for the monsters.
  • Toilet Teleportation: Toilets are used to teleport around the levels.
  • Too Awesome to Use: The Monster Manuals are required to perform scares, but they are rare to come by, so it it recommended to not use them very often.
