Trivia / USA High

Go To

  • Dawson Casting: Drumroll please...
  • Dye Hard: Josh Holland is naturally a dark brunet but sported blond highlights at the time.
  • Fake Brit: Ashley and her father are played by Americans. That goes double for the rest of the British characters that appear on the show.
  • Fake Nationality: Miss Dupree is played by Dutch actress Angela Visser.
  • One-Book Author: Thomas Magiar (Christian) only appeared in this series, aside from a few commercials. He quit acting and went into real estate.
  • Production Posse: Kristen Miller and Marquita Terry produced a web series together that they both star in called Work in Progress.
  • Recycled Set: The set was also used in California Dreams.
  • Recycled Script: Among such reused SBTB plots include:
    • A character spending too much on their father's credit card.
    • Guy falling for a disabled love interest and learning An Aesop.
    • Boys helping babysit a baby and losing said infant.
    • The plot where a bully challenges one of the main guys to a fight is similar to one episode of Hang Time.
    • Jackson meets his singing idol and shares some songs with him. To his shock, the guy takes Jackson's work and presents it as his own with Jackson declaring "keep them, I can write fresh songs while you can't." It's almost word-for-word a plot from California Dreams.
  • Throw It In!:
    • Josh Holland was asked by Peter Engel "do you sing?" and when he said "in the shower maybe", he was pulled into a recording studio to make a couple of demos that were then used in the show.
    • As the show was taped in front of a live audience, if a joke didn't connect with the crowd, writers would come on stage and come up with an alternate gag or punchline before resuming filming.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • It was intended to be on TNBC like all the other Peter Engel shows, but for whatever reason (possibly due to the name), it wound up on the USA Network instead, where it lasted longer than the USA Action Extreme Team did.
    • According to Josh Holland, there was talk of a spin-off following the gang at college but it never came to pass - possibly due to Saved by the Bell: the College Years also airing.
