• Award Category Fraud: Kate Upton was nominated for Best Shirtless Performance at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards. She doesn't actually have a Shirtless Scene in the movie. She is, however, seen in only a bikini a few times, which does mean she's specifically not wearing a shirt...
• Billing Displacement: Although Kate Upton is third-billed (and one of the main reasons for a number of people to see it), the movie's half-over before she makes her first appearance. It is, however, more justifiable than billing Nicki Minaj (as Lydia, whose total screen time will be lucky to reach five minutes) above Taylor Kinney, whose character (Kate's brother and ultimately Carly's lover) is more important to the story.
• Star-Derailing Role:
  • The film ended up being one of three released in 2014 — the others being Sex Tape and Annie (2014) — that helped cause Cameron Diaz to call time on her acting career. Unlike the other two films, this one was financially successful, earning $200m worldwide on a $40m dollar budget, but it was reviewed just as poorly as they were.
  • Kate Upton's acting career was also stalled out of the gate after her performance received reviews that, to put it politely, were very mixed. She did continue to have occasional roles in films and TV over the next few years, until she mostly wound down her acting and modelling careers in order to focus on raising her daughter.
