  • Acting for Two:
    • Doubling as Talking to Themself, Lizzie Freeman voices both Meggy and Shadow Meggy.
    • Jasmine Yang voices both Duke and Russet of the Spud Buds.
    • Anthony Sardinha voices all 4 members of the Funky Fource, both Froy and Doy Maloy, and Chet.
  • Anachronism Stew: Meggy's Splatoon 2 livestream wouldn't have made sense because it streamed after Episode 5, where she is last seen being brainwashed. Appropriately, it was taken down due to it being theoretically impossible for Meggy to stream during that time. After Episode 6, it was reuploaded.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices:
  • Cut Song: When AJ Dispirito publicly released the soundtrack, not every song made it. Special mention goes to the "happy" rendition of Benedict's Leitmotif used for Episode 7 and the jazzy chase theme used for when the Funky Fource use their roller skates in Episode 8.
  • Descended Creator: Roughly half of the recurring cast is made up of the show's crew: creators Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul are Spud Buds Yam and Mash, respectively; head writer and VA director Jasmine Yang is Duke, Russet, and Mayora Bora; and editor James Bailey is the ice cream vendor Aziz.
  • Exiled from Continuity: Played with. In one episode, Meggy shows the photo she took with the cast of SMG4 before going to Port Aurora, but curiously Mario's face is covered by Meggy's thumb. This would mean that Mario exists in the series' continuity, but cannot be directly acknowledged on it due to copyright with Nintendo.
  • The Other Darrin: Elsie Lovelock fills in for Aimee Smith as the voice of Auri during the "What if Friday Night Funkin Was 3D" short.
  • Series Hiatus: After the pilot, Sunset Paradise's production was put on hold for two months due to Glitch focusing on The SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special, their main series' second Big Damn Movie.
  • Trolling Creator: When the GLITCH introduction video first teased the series, Meggy's face was kept hidden from the viewers, leaving many curious as to what she looked like. From then on, every teaser showed off more of Meggy's model, but always made it a point to keep her face hidden until the trailer was released.
  • Word of God: Kevin and Luke state that the animation is intended to feel like a video game.
