  • Celebrity Voice Actor: The 3.0 Update added announcers for each team:
    • The Pirate announcer is voiced by Christopher Bowes, lead singer of Alestorm.
    • The Knight announcer is voiced by James "Grand Master Jaldaboath" Fogarty, lead singer of "Medieval Templar Metal" band Jaldaboath
    • The Viking announcer, Rejenorst, isn't a celebrity per se, but PVKII veterans might remember him as the one who did the original Viking voice commands
  • What Could Have Been: In regards to the planned future classes, the Pirates were originally going to receive a light, fast class called the Swashbuckler. He would have carried a rapier and parrying dagger, and would have possibly been capable of Parkour-like movement. Eventually, the idea was scrapped (possibly due to the Skirmisher already being a Fragile Speedster) and the dev team decided to give the Pirates a tank class in the form of the Buccaneer.
    • Similarly, the pirate 'Ealer was at one point going to be a Voodoo Witch Doctor, but that design was deemed too similar to the aforementioned Buccaneer, and changed to a tavern wench.
    • Originally, the Heavy Knight and Man-at-Arms were both going to receive a one-handed flail as one of their weapons, much like their respecive PVKI counterparts, but the weapon was scrapped during development.
  • Before the teams were Color-Coded for Your Convenience as red (Pirates) green (Vikings) and blue (Knights), some of the characters wore differently colored clothing. The Heavy Knight's clothing and the cross on the Archer's shirt used to be red, the Huscarl's shield used to be blue and yellow instead of green and yellow, and the Captain's coat used to be black.
  • Back when the game only had a single class per team, the Heavy Knight used to have the crossbow. Once the Archer was added, the crossbow was given to him, leaving the Heavy Knight without any ranged weapons.
  • The Trinket Wars gamemode went through quite a few changes during the course of PVKII's development. Originally, it was called Booty Tag, in which a team had to pick up a single chest in order to be able to score points. Eventually, it was changed into a gamemode called Holy Grail, with the major change being that whoever held the grail was able to defend themselves. Finally, it was turned into the current Trinket Wars gamemode in order to be more balanced, with each team having their own trinket to carry.
