• Actor Allusion: In one scene (trailer only), Tom (trapped inside a cat's body) does pull-ups, which Kevin Spacey also did in The Usual Suspects.
• California Doubling: Set in New York City, but filmed in Montreal.
• Casting Gag:
  • In the Mexican Spanish dub, Tom is voiced by Salvador Delgado who previously voiced another cat.
  • In the Polish dub, Tom is voiced by aptly named Tomasz Kot (literally - Thomas Cat).
• Not Screened for Critics: When critics finally did see it, they sent it to the litter box with a 13% on Rotten Tomatoes.
