Trivia / Little People (Egmont)

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Eddie and Sarah Lynn have the same voice actor. What makes it ironic is that they are twins.
  • Crossdressing Voices: In the claymation show, Eddie and Michael are voiced by women.
  • Dawson Casting: In the claymation show, grown women voice the main characters who are supposed to be in preschool.
  • He Also Did: Rick Sigglekow, creator of the 2016 reboot, was known in the 90's for being the creator of two shows that were framing devices for British cartoons: Shining Time Station and The Noddy Shop.
  • No Export for You:
    • The claymation show is pretty much unheard of outside of North America and Europe. This is also the case with the 2016 CGI series — it's only available on Sprout (which is only available in the US) and only other select markets, and Fisher-Price has gone on record saying that they have no plans to offer it on Netflix. Until it got screwed over by Universal after the channel rebrand, which then sees Mattel dumping the episodes onto Youtube region-free.
    • The toys have been No Export for You to a large chunk of Southeast Asia since the late 2000s, at least until 2018.
  • The Other Darrin: The 2016 series had an American voice cast for the first season, but HiT Entertainment, who co-produced the show with Mattel, left after Season 1 (after they got folded into Mattel Creations), so the entire cast for the first season was replaced with a Toronto-based voice cast for the remainder of the series.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • Rare toy example: Mattel South East Asia/Fisher-Price South East Asia no longer distributes the toys in the region and the region's FP website makes no mention of the franchise. The official stance given for the decision to stop bringing in the toys is that they aren't selling. Mattel SEA has also claimed that they have officially licensed the import of Little People Toys to third party distributors in the region, and whether the distributors make good of their license is not Mattel's business.
    • Shortly after the rebrand of Sprout to Universal Kids in September 2017, the 2016 CGI series disappeared off the channel and any mention of the show disappeared off the site. Additionally, Fisher-Price started dumping the episodes in a timely manner onto Youtube, all but confirming that the worst has indeed happened.note
