Trivia / Kamen Rider Stronger

Go To

  • The Danza: Jou Shigeru, played by the late Shigeru Araki.
  • Prop Recycling
    • In #13, the remains of Destron's Pickel Shark can be seen in a Kikkaijin graveyard.
    • In #17, the head of the Toad Beastman from Kamen Rider Amazon is worn by one of a group of pranksters who spook some children before falling victim to the Bat Kikkaijin.
    • Something must have happened to Bubunger's costume during production since, when he returns for the final episode, he appears as Bubunger's head on Dokugaran's body. He appears again in this state in the special.
    • Also returning in the final episode is the "Crab Kikkaijin", actually the Crab Beastman with arms taken from Bee Beastman and Mantis Beastman. He is further modified for his appearance in the special, with parts taken from Tiger Beetle Beastman and Kikkaijin Hasamigani.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Tackle came about as the result of a letter from a female fan, who wanted to play with her friends.
  • Refitted for Sequel: The idea of a Rider who fights monsters whilst travelling with no Home Base or Local Hangout was considered for Dragon Rider, the proposal which would become Amazon.
  • Role Reprise: All of the first six Rider actors come Back for the Finale.
  • What Could Have Been: Shigeru Araki was offered a choice between the eponymous role of Stronger and Akaranger in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger. Due to the established nature of Kamen Rider, he chose the former while the role Tsuyoshi Kaijo, the very first lead of Super Sentai, would go to Naoyo Makoto. Of note, the two would reunite in Tokusou Saizensen alongside Hiroshi Fujioka as part of the show's debut cast.
    • Tackle was actually intended to be a much more physical and strong character, but Kyoko Okada's severe asthma limited what she could do. As such, the "Electro Wave Toss" was instead developed as a way to keep her involved in the action without having her overexert herself.
    • As noted on the main page, Tackle is not officially considered a Kamen Rider. Had she been officially recognized as one, Stronger would have been the first Kamen Rider series with a female lead Kamen Rider - a distinction another series ended up having 41 years later.
    • According to Word of God from Producer Toru Hirayama, had the show gotten a 52-episode run, they would've revived Tackle - meaning that by extension, the much-despised Kamen Rider Curse (which saw most of the female riders during the Heisei era either die or be de-powered) likely wouldn't exist.
