Trivia / Elite (2018)

  • Cast the Runner-Up:
    • Valentina Zenere originally auditioned for the role of Rebeka but lost it to Claudia Salas. She would later be taken into consideration for the fifth season to play Isadora instead.
    • Pol Granch was initially going to portray Patrick, according to some sources. However, it went to Manu Rios and he landed the part of Phillipe instead.
  • The Danza: Omar is portrayed by Omar Ayuso.
  • Dawson Casting:
    • Most of the original main cast were in their early to late 20's, except for Ester Expósito and Omar Ayuso who were 17 and 19 at the time of filming their first season. Ester even referred to herself as a "baby" (due to her younger appearance at the time) when reacting to her own casting tape for the show. Martina Cariddi was 19, Adam Nourou was 18 and Alvaro de Juana and Carmen Arrufat were both 19 in the sixth season.
    • Nano is older than Omar, who enrolls as a student of Las Encinas as of the end of season 3.
  • Fake Nationality: Subverted. Danna Paola (who is Mexican), Jorge López (who is Chilean), Pol Granch & Adam Nourou (who are French), Valentina Zenere, Luz Cipriota and Leonardo Sbaraglia (who are Argentine), André Lamoglia and Anitta (who are Brazilian) and Carloto Cotta (who is Portuguese) all make no effort in trying to sound Spanish like the rest of their castmates and play their own nationalities.
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor:
    • Nico is the first transgender character on the show. It's helped by the fact that his actor, Ander Puig, is also transgender in real life.
    • Also, Omar is a gay character played by openly gay actor Omar Ayuso, thus making for a double-whammy of this and The Danza.
  • Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor: Subverted. With the series having a Latin dub consisting of Argentine actors, Danna Paola, Jorge López, Adam Nourou, Valentina Zenere, Luz Cipriota and Leonardo Sbaraglia (the latter three being Argentine themselves) are the only cast members whose characters were not dubbed. However, that doesn't mean they self-dubbed either as their dialogues from the original language were maintained.
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Danna Paola, who is used to playing nice girls in Mexican soap operas. However, this time she becomes the high school's Alpha Bitch who is very prejudicial towards the scholarship students, especially Nadia who in a matter of seconds surpasses her Academic Alpha Bitch status.
    • Then we have André Lamoglia, after his two other roles as Rafa Smor and Luan in Juacas and BIA, which are from Disney Channel.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot:
    • Nano's and Christian's absences in season two are due to their respective actors Jamie Llorente and Miguel Herrán returning to Money Heist after its renewal.
    • Danna Paola reported that she would not be returning after season three because of her career as a singer.
    • Jorge López leaving the show was his decision. After he is expelled, instead of repeating the year with Samuel, Rebeka, Guzmán and Ander, Valerio takes over Carla's father's wineries while she goes off to college.
    • Phillipe not returning in the sixth season has to do with Pol Granch prioritizing his singing career.
  • Romance on the Set:
    • Alvaro Rico and Ester Expósito were in a relationship between 2018 and 2019.
    • Georgina Amorós is currently dating former executive producer Diego Betancor.
  • Only So Many Spanish Actors: Most of the cast consists of Spanish actors, among them a few familiar faces from the likes of María Pedraza, Jaime Lorente and Miguel Herrán who gained worldwide recognition for starring in Money Heist.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • According to official sources, Spanish singer Rosalía was meant to have a cameo in the sixth episode of the fourth season, which was to be titled El mal querer (after the singer's debut album), singing at a concert which would be attended by the whole student body of Las Encinas. However, she backed out at the last minute, probably due to scheduling conflicts with her musical career, and the episode ended up being titled Te quiero mal, with Rosalía being replaced by Ambar Lucid, who sang "Fantasmas".
    • Pol Granch was supposed to return as Phillipe in the sixth season, but he quit prior to filming to focus on his singing career.
