Trivia / Dark Forces Saga

  • Fan Nickname: For Kyle, God.
  • The Other Darrin: Kyle and Jan change voice actors for pretty much every installment, barring Jedi Academy, where Kyle's voice actor from Jedi Outcast reprises the role.
  • Recycled Script: Jedi Outcast. An imperial officer is building a Super Soldier army on a big Cool Starship, like in Dark Forces. The Imperial Remnant invades Yavin 4 to destroy Luke's academy, like in the novel Darksaber. And Young Jedi Knights: Jedi Under Siege. And an event only referenced after the fact in The New Rebellion, Young Jedi Knights: Shadow Academy, and I, Jedi. The latter one got recycled a lot in the 90s.

  • Role Reprise: The actor who played Morgan Katarn in Jedi Knight, Jacob Witkin, comes back to voice Morgan in Jedi Outcast, making him the only returning actor from Jedi Knight.
  • Talking to Himself: Pic and 8t88 share the same voice actor (good luck figuring that out without looking up the cast though). Pretty amusing, considering that Pic disables 88.
  • What Could Have Been: Luke Skywalker was initially considered as the player character when development on the first game started. This was quickly dumped when the developers realized that would put a number of creative restrictions on the story and gameplay and creating an original character was preferable for creative freedom. The developers also experimented with having a Featureless Protagonist, but found this unsatisfactory for the story.
