- A woman at the Captain's table remarks she likes that nice Scottish doctor, referring to Dr. Finlay from Dr. Finlay's Casebook.
- When he mistakenly believes Mélisse was flirting with him at breakfast, Wendover remarks he's seen "that Tom Jones film".
- Satterjee tries to improve his English accent by repeating "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plains" and "In Hertford, Hereford, Hampshire, hurricanes hardly happen".
- After hearing the Indian music Satterjee plays, Dr. Burke calls it "Top of the Poppadoms".
- When talking about Dawn's dancing, Mrs. Dailey mentions that she's very good at "the Victor Sylvester bit".
