Started airing in 2021, Sasmos is based from Spyros Petroulakis' book of the same name.

The show focuses on the love story of Argyro Vroulaki and Asteris Stamatakis, members of families that are tangled in a Cretan vendetta. About 20 years ago in a mountainous village in Crete, Vassilis Stamatakis killed Markos Vroulakis. Witnesses of the murder are his wife Marina and his two young children, Argyro and Petros. The murder came to be added to the long chain of murders of a vendetta that has been ongoing for many years. And when it seemed that things were about to calm down and the vendetta was almost forgotten, a member of the Stamatakis was found dead and the main suspect is the Vroulaki family…

The show is running on the TV channel Alpha.

Sasmos contains examples of:

  • Age Cut: In many instances, when there is a flashback, the camera focuses on a character holding an object, and a throwback of that same object is shown with that character, but younger.
  • Age-Gap Romance: Theodora & Giorgos. Giorgos is visibly older and Theodora is made fun of for this by her brother.
  • A Girl in Every Port: Asteris meets Argyro while on his travel in Berlin.
  • Always Save the Girl: Asteris has promised Argyro that he will protect her 'until the sky'.
  • Amicable Exes: Mathios & Vasiliki remain on good terms years after their break-up.
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Argyro is instantly aroused by Asteris' voice when he started singing.
  • Asshole Victim: Stephanos, who was killed by his cousin cheated on his wife with Aspa.
  • Beach Kiss
  • Clear Their Name: The task of Petros' Vroulakis family, after he is accused of killing Stefanis, a member of the Stamatakis family.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Argyro is a primary example of this, as well as her mother Marina, and her family's 'enemy' Kalliopi.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Vassilis Stamatakis is a loving and caring father who is brutally killed.
  • Digital De-Aging:Almost always used for flashbacks.
  • Doesn't Like Guns: When Manolis goes to the mountains with his friend Nikiforos to shoot, it is revealed that he isn't keen on the idea of guns so he doesn't participate.
  • Inconvenient Attraction: The main trope of the series. Argyro and Asteris feel bad because they like each other, since they are part of families involved in a century-old opposition.
  • Internal Reveal: When Calliope finds Mathios and Vasiliki making out in her house and after Mathios reveals to her that he loved Vasiliki for the past twenty years, Calliope puts the pieces together and realises that Mathios killed Stephanes, something that the audience knew already threw flashbacks.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Whether the phantom of Anthoula actually appears in front of Calliope or if it is just a fragment of her imagination, created of past guilt and her inability to cope with the current events that a new vendetta may arise, is something that show has yet to explain. Given that it's a dramatic series with no paranormal elements, it might be the latter.
  • Misplaced Accent: Many characters don't have the standard Cretan accent (f.e. Asteris, Theodora), while some other do (f.e. Mathios, grandma Irini etc.).
  • New Old Flame: Mathios and Vasiliki, as well as Marina and Antonis share a romantic history.
  • Parental Abandonment: Multiple dead parents, or parents who have left their children behind.
  • Police Are Useless: Calliope doesn't hold high the police department, though this prejudice stems from the fact that even after so many mounths that her nephew was murdered, they still haven't found the killer and because they have acquitted Petros Vroulakis, whom she believes to be the real murderer. Even Antonis, head of the police department, feels terrible for how little progress they've made so far.
  • Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: Stella, Asteris' ex-girlfriend, starts to show signs of being this. Despite how horrible she felt when Asteris rejected her for Argyro, she still has feelings for him and the fact that his relationship with Argyro seems to go smoothly makes matters worse for her, so much that she took a picture of them and threatened to make their "illegal love" known to the outside world.
  • Red Herring: While Mathios is distant, cold-hearted and a bit savage, he's shown to care about Vasiliki deep down ( as he always loved her all these years) and acted as a parental figure to her son, Nikiforos, after his dad was murdered. That was until it was revealed that he's actually the murderer.
  • Shooting Lessons From Your Parents: Nikiforos goes on shooting lessons with his father's cousin, Mathios.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Argyro Vroulaki and Asteris Stamatakis, since their respective families are in a vendetta and they have to hide their love from the outside world.
  • Who Murdered the Asshole: This is the dominant climate while investigating Stefanis' murder, before his killer is revealed to the audience.
