Tengen Toppa Madoka Magica is a story written by Tornadopelt that asks the question- what if Kyubey fully reformed and wasn't an immoral villain?

  • Adaptational Heroism: By far, Kyubey is more heroic here than he ever was in canon, outright acting as the Mentor Mascot he was meant to be, and even taking part in a fight himself.
  • Badass Cape: With orange flame trim and a flaming Incubator head with white triangular Cool Shades overlaid on it.
  • Bat Family Crossover: The other spin-offs are present here, with Kyubey fixing each one to be less dark.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Where do we even start? Kyubey's whole attitude after discovering Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and, as a consequence, Spiral Power, embraces this, to the point that Kyubey ends up channeling Kamina constantly. In fact, he even makes his first Contract using Spiral Power with Mami Tomoe, when normally an Incubator who's been banished and cut off from the Hive Mind is unable to make contracts again.
  • Combining Mecha: The Doppels are reworked to be "Doppelzords", fusing with each other to form giant robots known as "Magizords".
  • Cool Shades: Kyubey's not just wearing cool shades, he's wearing triangular shades. Red triangular shades. Yes, those shades.
  • Dare to Be Badass: Fitting for someone who bases their personality off Kamina, Timeline 401's Kyubey loves to give these speeches.
  • Establishing Series Moment: It’s clear this isn’t going to be a bleak and horrid world when Madoka’s dream this time sees Kyubey dressed as Kamina, the reappearance of all her friends for the final battle against Walpurgis, and a rainbow-colored explosion as they say the line.
The entire Holy Quintet, plus Nagisa and Yuma: JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!
  • Heel–Face Turn: One that took three weeks for Kyubey, but one he took nonetheless.
  • Hot-Blooded: So hot it's weapons-grade.
  • Humanity Ensues: After contracting with Madoka, Kyubey's body takes in enough Spiral Power that he physically evolves into a humanoid form, wearing Kamina’s clothes to boot.
  • Instant Awesome: Just Add Mecha!: The reworked Doppels. While they're still materializations of the Witch forms of Magical Girls, they're... different. Primarily that instead of being constructs of said Magical Girls' despair, they're constructs formed from Spiral Energy and take the form of mechanized versions of the Witch the Magical Girls would have become.
  • Meaningful Name: The timeline this is set in is 401, since the first episode of TTGL aired on April 1.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Kyubey experiences this along with Tears of Remorse as a result of Sarah Graham's death on the night of September 11th.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unsurprisingly, Kyubey makes sure Mami doesn’t wind up being eaten by Charlotte in spectacular fashion, and even dewitchifies her and saves Nagisa to boot.
  • This Is a Drill: It wouldn’t be a TTGL crossover if drills didn’t come into play, would it?
  • Took a Level in Badass: Try "Took Several Levels In Badass". The first comes when he develops emotions and lets fly at the Council of Nine, the second when he discovers the use of Spiral Power, and the third when he contracts with Madoka.
  • Turning Back Human: Kyubey can use Spiral Power to turn Witches back into Puella Magi.
