"The story of a spirit cannot be found in a book. They say it was written from the saddle of a horse, but never to been told from the heart of one… Even from the small & untamed ones."
— Tagline from the poster on Deviantart

Ever wonder what happens when you mash all DreamWorks stories in one take? Lucky Spirit does that with a huge cast, and turns it into a world beyond DreamWorks Animation to create something different.

Lucky Spirit is set within the world of Spirit Untamed and reworks it into an ambitious take based on ideas from Brother Bear and Turbo. Loosely based on the characters from the films, the story follows Lucky Prescott on her journey to find her dream and enter a world with her friends and a fast snail she keeps named Turbo, all while taming the spirit of the mustang within herself and hopes to use her gift for good use in the greatest horse race in the frontier.

Created originally on Deviantart by B-Master Animation, co-developer of The Ultimate Ed Chronicles, the series is more of a tribute based around the style of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Spirit Untamed.

Tropes that apply to Lucky Spirit:

  • Animal Talk: While Turbo and the snail crew can talk most in the story, the horses, including Perry the Bilby, remain speechless.
  • Artistic License – Sports: Kentucky Derby is used as a western version of how it was, different than its modern times.
  • The Cameo:
    • Vanoss Gaming and his crew.
    • Various DreamWorks directors and creators.
    • Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Echo, Tony.
    • Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous: Darius, Kenji, Sammy, Yasmina, Brooklynn and Ben.
    • The Boss Baby characters: Francis E. Francis and Edwin Armstrong.
    • Megamind characters: Roxanne Ritchi.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Having a horse inside Lucky to learn the consequences when trying to reach her true purpose in the world.
  • Fusion Fic: The world has a bunch of DreamWorks Animation characters, connected in the same place from Spirit Untamed.
  • Magic Genetics: The soul of Spirit Jr. is able to fuse with Lucky's DNA and give her horse-like powers by being absorbed into her system.
  • Present Tense Narrative: The story frequently switches between the present tense and the past tense, sometimes in the same sentence. Here's one example:
She tries to speak again but,...she neighed again and covered her mouth once more.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Since the town of Wallington Falls have no horses due to its low popularity, Tulio and Miguel uses kids, such as the PALs, as a way to entertain the people by foot races. Yi, Jin and Peng from Abominable, Tip Tucci from Home, Dawn Betterman from The Croods: A New Age, and Tim Templeton from The Boss Baby. They may have differences but they sometimes fight each other during race time.
  • Shout-Out: The town of Wallington Falls is named after Spirit Riding Free creator Aury Wallington, and another series she worked on: Gravity Falls.
  • Song Fic: Fearless Trick by FuryHearted Productions. (Fearless from Spirit Untamed and The Trick by AJR) While this song is just a mashup and a central theme to the story, other songs and covers were also used such as Bryan Adams' Get Off of My Back (From Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron), The Proclaimers' On My Way (from Shrek), and Becky G's You Belong (from Spirit Untamed).
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: When Lucky has her horse's spirit in her, she is the only character who is able to speak to some animals, though not to the horses due to how faithful her horse was to the OG Spirit.
  • Super-Speed: Lucky's horse gift and Turbo's born gift.
  • Wanton Cruelty to the Common Comma: Now and then, an ellipsis will have a comma next to it.
Lucky: Hola,... glad some of you horses are safe, huh?
  • You Keep Using That Word: At one point, when Lucky is chased by a lion, the narration says that she's "giving the lion the chase", although that would mean that she was the one chasing the lion.
