Recap / Tiny Toons Looniversity S 1 E 5 Save The Loo Bru

Go To

The fifth episode of Tiny Toons Looniversity.

Following a Disguised in Drag lesson from Bugs, Buster meets his nemesis, Montana Max, who acquired the rights to the Loo Bru and intends to tear it down. As Buster applies what he learned from Bugs to trick Monty into legally relinquishing ownership, Babs and Sweetie offer their dorm to a homeless Dizzy with the latter coming to regret it.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: In the original series, Montana Max's first appearance was in the first episode, "The Looney Beginning". In this series, Monty doesn't appear until this episode, the fifth one.
  • Adopted to the House: It is revealed in this episode that Dizzy lives in the apartment above the Loo Bru. When Monty buys the Loo Bru and kicks Dizzy out of the apartment above it, Babs and Sweetie let Dizzy stay in their dorm room. Dizzy soon proves to be a difficult roommate by keeping Babs and Sweetie up with his loud drumming, being so messy that he makes Sweetie look like Babs, and eating Sweetie's report on the theory of toon gravity.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Buster's cross-dressing is met with Hamton and Plucky being practically speechless at the end result.
Hamton: Ga-ga-gorgeous! Not that that's important, I respect your brain, too!
Plucky: You make a... rather, convincing, shockingly attractive lady bunny.
  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: Babs mentions that Dizzy left the toilet seat up... on the roof.
  • Disguised in Drag: Bugs teaches a class on how to disguise in drag to outsmart adversaries. He first appears as "Brinessa Bunny" as part of his lesson. Buster later disguises himself as a cruel female bunny named Ruth Less to woo Monty into signing away his rights to the Loo Bru property.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: After he gets exposed, Monty botches up his escape and later gets access into the Loo Bru denied by Dizzy.
  • Hate at First Sight: Buster's reaction to meeting Montana Max.
  • Liar Revealed: Buster foils Monty's plan by revealing his awards and talents as phony.
  • Literal-Minded: Losing his home is the second worst day of Dizzy's life, right after the day he found out monster trucks weren't made of real monsters.
  • Loan Shark: A school of loan sharks (portrayed by actual sharks) appear as clients of the La Re Lai Des Mechants restuarant when Buster, disguised as Ruth Less, woos Monty as part of his plan to save the Loo Bru.
Loan Shark Leader: It's not enough that we succeed. Whales must also fail!
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Monty's lawyer is a caricature of Rudy Giuliani.
  • Not on the List: At the end of this episode, Monty tries to get into the Loo Bru to see a stage show featuring Brinessa Bunny and Ruth Less (Bugs and Buster in drag). Dizzy is working as a bouncer and refuses to let him in, saying he's not on the list. When Monty tells Dizzy that he paid to have his name put on the list, Dizzy tells him that he refused to put his name on the list because he tried to tear down the Loo Bru in the first place.
  • Punny Name: Buster's female alter-ego in this episode is Ruth Less.
  • Saving the Orphanage: Monty bought the Loo Bru to demolish it, and it's up to Buster to save it by tricking him into selling it.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Bugs teaches a class on how to deal with such a nemesis. Buster quickly finds his nemesis in Montana Max when he buys the Loo Bru to demolish it.
  • Trash of the Titans: Dizzy outdoes Sweetie in being messy. When he drops a bag of garbage off in Babs and Sweetie's dorm room, they tell him that the dumpster is out back, but he tells him that it's his suitcase. Near the end of the episode, when Monty's plan to tear down the Loo Bru is foiled, Dizzy returns to his apartment above it. Upon seeing its messy state, Babs believes that Monty trashed it, but Dizzy tells her that the apartment was like that before he left.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Monty escapes, in a klutzy manner, on a helicopter after his plan to tear down the Loo Bru is foiled and his false credentials into Acme Loo are exposed.
  • Visual Pun: When Monty declares he is in love, an X-ray of his chest cavity is shown with his heart represented by a sack of money. Taking note of the sack's color, Monty has a black heart.
  • Wingding Eyes: Buster's eyes turn into slot reels with pizza, burgers, and fries on them when he sees just how much food is in the Casket Basket.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: Exaggerated. Being in front of the fireplace causes Buster's makeup to melt off in one piece like a mask.
