"House of Pain"

Original Air Date: July 2, 2004

It's an average day in Endsville. Billy is playing outside when he meets Lord Pain, who demands Billy take him to "The Master." Billy then takes him to the TV, which Lord Pain destroys before leaving the room to find The Master, who turns out to be Grim.

Lord Pain introduces himself as the ruler of The Plane of Eternal Suffering, and begs Grim to accept him as a servant, offering gifts, and even showing that he went as far as to have his entire body tattooed with Grim's image.

At first Grim declines, but after Grim realizes it is chore day, has Lord Pain do the chores for him.

Lord Pain discovers that Mandy is bossing Grim around. The Lord is a bit confused, and Grim explains the deal between him and the kids. Lord Pain then decides to destroy the kids to free his master, but fails to destroy Billy. Lord Pain sees Grim outside of Mandy's house, enters in to get Grim's leg back, and starts to what seems to be killing Mandy. When Grim enters, he discovers Mandy convinced Lord Pain that she, in fact, was the real master, and Lord Pain was mashing potatoes for her.

"House of Pain" contains examples of:

  • Blatant Lies: Billy watches a commercial for an at-home waxing product where the model claims it didn't hurt at all while clearly wincing in pain and crying a Single Tear.
  • Brown Note: Lord Pain speaks in a forbidden language that has a debilitating effect on every living thing around him. Billy comes in and starts babbling after his brain apparently melts out of his ears.
  • I Kiss Your Foot: Lord Pain kisses Grim's foot when he first meets him.
  • Loony Fan: Lord Pain is obsessed with serving Grim, and weirds him out showing off his full body tattoos of him.
  • Take Me to Your Leader: Lord Pain demands to see the Master. Billy takes him to what he thinks is the Master — his television set.

"A Grim Prophecy"

Original Air Date: July 2, 2004

Back in the Stone Age, a young Grim sets out on his first night as the Grim Reaper. He first reaps an annoying human who is crushed by a giant wheel. After this he comes across an old Witch Doctor who he is supposed to reap, she has foreseen his future, a future where Grim becomes a servant to two annoying children (those being Billy and Mandy, of course).

"A Grim Prophecy" contains examples of:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The short ends with the Witch Doctor telling the viewer that they’ll suffer an eternity of commercials.
  • Cheerful Child: It’s shown that Grim was this, even when he was supposed to be doing his job.
Grim: Me name is Grimmy, and I’ve come to reap your immortal soul.
  • Expy: Grim’s father is pretty much Red Forman in looks and mannerisms. He’s even voiced by Kurtwood Smith.

"Mandy Bites Dog"

Original Air Date: July 2, 2004

When Mindy mocks Mandy's dumb and cowardly dog, Saliva, Mandy decides to train her dog to be meaner. However, after Grim keeps mentioning his own dog, Cerberus, Mandy decides to use Grim's special whistle to call the gigantic, three-headed, fire-breathing hound. In the end, Cerberus marries Mindy's chihuahua, Little Delicious, and Saliva snaps against Mindy for a brief moment.

"Mandy Bites Dog" contains examples of:

  • A Dog Ate My Homework: Discussed and Exaggerated when Grim panics after Mandy uses the dog whistle to summon Cerberus.
Grim: Cerberus is a monster! He didn’t just eat me homework, he ate me Dad!
  • Kick the Dog: Almost everyone all but literally does this to Saliva throughout the episode. Makes Saliva’s payback on Mindy all the more satisfying.
  • Out of Focus: Billy doesn’t have a particularly big role in this episode.
