Tropes present in this episode:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Jefferson Hogg continually calls Rosco "Bosco."
  • And This Is for...: When Daisy catches one of the bad guys she starts to slug the other woman, saying "This is for the mink coat!" The other woman faints before Daisy has a chance to hit her. "Wake up! I'm not done with you yet!"
  • Chekhov's Gun: At one point just before Boss's accident he notices a trampoline on the street, soon to be put in a nearby store. Later, Rosco gets thrown out the window of a hotel, lands on the trampoline, and bounces into the scoop of a passing garbage truck.
  • Destination Defenestration: Rosco accidentally walks in on a couple in a hotel room. The man tosses Rosco out a second story window.
  • Easy Amnesia: Boss Hogg loses his memory after a small accident where he bumped his head. Thereafter he gets hit on the head three more times, each time going back and forth between his normal personality ("Boss Hogg") and a nice personality ("Jefferson Hogg").
  • Frame-Up: Once again Boss tries to frame the Dukes for his own illegal activities.
  • Hauled Before a Senate Subcommittee: Boss Hogg is in a tizzy because a Senator is about to visit Hazzard County to investigate the crime there, so he tries to bribe his underlings into pausing their activities until after the Senator leaves. In the end the Senator congratulates the Dukes and the Sheriff's department for capturing the criminals.
  • Identity Amnesia: When Boss Hogg comes to from getting bumped on the head he doesn't remember anything about himself. He learns his name, but becomes an honest man, complaining about the corruption in the Hazzard County police department and insisting that Rosco release the Dukes because they're so nice.
  • Got Me Doing It: Waylon Jennings as the Balladeer starts calling Rosco "Bosco" after Jefferson Hogg does it enough times.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Jefferson Hogg sees a picture on his desk and asks who that is. Rosco tells him it's his (Hogg's) wife Lulu. Jefferson then notices that Rosco is in the picture as well, and demands to know what he's doing with his wife. Rosco nervously and quickly explains that Lulu is his sister.
  • Necktie Leash: Jefferson Hogg grabs Rosco by the necktie when he thinks that Rosco is having an affair with his wife.
  • Never Heard That One Before: Once again a Duke has to climb out of a speeding car and onto another speeding car.
    Luke: I'd do it...
Bo: ...yeah yeah "but you're driving."
  • No Honor Among Thieves: What the other thieves think is happening when Boss Hogg acts like he doesn't know who they are. He's actually got amnesia.
  • Pretty in Mink: Daisy in a mink coat, won for being the millionth customer at a store. Of course it's a scam.
  • Railroad Tracks of Doom: Barely averted; the General Lee stalls on some railroad tracks, and a moment later the flashing lights come on. Bo and Luke are barely able to get the car pushed off the tracks before the train reaches the crossing.
  • Tap on the Head: One of these causes JD Hogg to switch personalities between nice "Jefferson Hogg" and crooked "Boss Hogg."
  • Umpteenth Customer: Daisy gets a telegram saying she was the one millionth customer at a store in Capitol City which means she's the prize winner of a car, a mink coat, some jewelry, and four airplane tickets to Mexico. It's actually Boss Hogg's minions planting evidence on the Dukes to make them look guilty of Grand Theft Auto et al. including plans to flee the country. Later on Luke talks to the store's real manager, who tells him that they have never run a promotion such as that.
