You've got my back, so let me have yours!
Rapunzel, to Cassandra

Rapunzel discovers that Cassandra has a crush on a mysterious visitor from out of town, Andrew, and she thinks this is a great opportunity for her & Eugene to double-date with Cassandra & said Andrew—but Cassandra disagrees and would rather keep the date between herself and Andrew. The four of them end up on a double date, anyway. Then it turns out Andrew was not who he was pretending to be.

This episode provides examples of:

  • An Aesop: Sometimes, one should respect other people's privacy because it means they have a life beyond spending time with you. Maybe they're not undercover like Cassandra, but it's still best not to pry into their personal life.
  • Art Shift: The Story of how the Day of Hearts came to be is told in pop-up-book fashion.
  • Granola Guy: Andrew rescues sheep and uses balloons because he doesn't support animal-based transportation. It's a front.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: Eugene may not like Cassandra at all, but he's furious when he discovers Andrew means her harm.
  • Interesting Situation Duel: Inside an hot-air balloon. As in it starts in the basket and escalates to both combatants climbing into the balloon itself.
  • Long List: When Rapunzel tells Cassandra that she has made a list of activities they could do, she shows a scroll she has written these down on... which, judging from the length of this list compared to how tall Rapunzel is, is about seven feet long.
  • Love at First Punch: The Day of Hearts celebrates the day when the King of Corona and an enemy queen duelled for three hours, fell in love during the duel, and were then married.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Once Eugene and Rapunzel figure out Andrew is a bad guy, they rush to warn Cassandra. By the time they find her, she has already captured him but they accidentally create a distraction that allows him to escape.
  • No Guy Wants an Amazon: Cassandra is afraid of this, so she tries to stop Rapunzel and Eugene from mentioning her strength or how great with weapons she is. In reality, it's less about becoming unappealing to Andrew, than because she's playing Andrew into thinking he's playing her, and doesn't want him to know how formidable she is.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Cassandra bites back at Andrew "I wouldn't count on a second date, if I were you", just before she kicks his ass and defeats him for good.
  • Pun-Based Title: It's tough to keep something under wraps when Rapunzel is involved.
  • Running Gag: No one can stop talking about how handsome Andrew is, which causes a lot of jealousy from Eugene. Even after Andrew is revealed as evil.
  • Sequel Hook: Despite things not working out with Andrew, Cass has another rose in her dresser indicating that either she is seeing someone, and just doesn't want to reveal who yet, or that she genuinely liked Andrew, paralleling the story of the king who fell in love with an enemy queen.
  • Shout-Out: The beginning of the story bears a resemblance to another story about two enemies who ended up becoming lovers. Bonus points for the said-lovers' romance creating enemies seeking revenge.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Deconstructed. The story of the two enemy leaders who fell in love and made peace between two kingdoms is a beautiful, simple romance story. But as Xavier reveals, the romance didn't end on a happy ending that can be tied up neatly in a bow. It was complicated when a vengeful third faction was borne from the dissatisfied members of the Saporian army. Just because two factions make peace doesn't mean there won't be a rebellion.
  • Wham Line: When Xavier wonders why Eugene and Rapunzel wanted Andrew's locket fixed, these next lines tell the audience Andrew may not be what he seems.
Rapunzel: [The locket] means "Love is true inner-wealth."
Xavier: Whoever told you that was lying...
