The fourth and final prelude short of Star Wars Rebels, found here.
Ezra sees a TIE fighter go down, and scavenges what he can from it.
Tropes in this short:
- The Artful Dodger: Serves as a demonstration of Ezra's skill as a thief and con artist. The pilot's still in the aircraft, but that doesn't stop Ezra from stealing everything that isn't nailed down. Including the pilot's helmet right off his head.
- Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: The song Ezra whistles is the Rebels theme.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Okay, they were the nearest available weapons, but turning anti-spaceship guns on a teenager because he stole a few things is complete overkill.
- Early-Bird Cameo: The pilot shot down by the Ghost is Valen Rudor, who won't be named until "Empire Day", when he demonstrates the TIE Advanced v1 Prototype.
- Refuge in Audacity: Ezra strips a ship where the pilot is not only still alive, but still in the ship when he strips it.
- Spider-Sense: The pilot attempts to shoot Ezra as he walks away with his back turned to him. However, Ezra senses the incoming attack (implied through the Force) and dodges it.
- This Cannot Be!: The pilot's reaction when Ezra dodges his blaster attack.
- Title Drop: Ezra, when he claims the aforementioned helmet.
- Ungrateful Bastard: Even before Ezra starts stealing parts out of his TIE, the pilot still behaves like a total Jerkass to the kid he thinks is trying to rescue him.
- Would Hurt a Child: The pilot, for fairly petty reasons.
