Recap / SMG4 - The Big Bad Bully

Go To

Tari has been having a bit of a bully problem... what will Mario and friends do to help out?

  • Amusing Injuries: Tari bumping into Wario sends him into oncoming traffic, causing him to collide with a car and fly into the dumpster.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Mario and SMG4 opt to just beat up Wario and get the game he stole, which is a fair action to take considering that it's Wario we're talking about. However, Meggy and Saiko opting to toughen up Tari so that she can stand up for herself is equally valid because Tari would be less of a target if she weren't such an Extreme Doormat. In the end it works out for everyone, Tari temporarily stands up to Wario, but Mario and SMG4 also get to kick Wario's ass.
  • Call-Back:
    • Saiko wanting to go ass whooping with Mario and SMG4.
    • Waluigi's still bitter and sore over Smash Bros., which Wario unfortunately reminds him of. Fortunately, he lets it go rather than give in to the Power of Rejection again.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: As opposed to her usual sobbing, Tari's wailing is...quite the sound to hear. SMG4 compares it to a dying cat.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
  • Gone Horribly Right: Meggy and Saiko confidence boosting session with Tari motivates her to kill Wario and gets her game back, much to the Meggy's dismay.
  • Heroic BSoD: Tari tries to hold it in after Wario pilfers her copy of the new Smash game, but once Beedle tells her that it was the last copy the store had she just barely makes it to her apartment before utterly breaking down into a loud wail.
  • "Open!" Says Me: Saiko busts down Tari's door in order for her and Meggy to talk to her, but adding to her "luck" for the day, the door lands directly on Tari.
Meggy: I told you to knock quietly...
Saiko: Ehhh, close enough. See look, she's fine.
    Tari: (coughs meekly)
  • The Reveal: We finally get to see where Tari lives—in an apartment above a video game store in Onett.
  • Shout-Out: The poster for the newest Smash Each Other In The Ass Bros. game in Tari's room has Theo from the bloopers' sister series, Meta Runner. Aqua and Yui Hirasawa are also on it.
  • Violence Really Is the Answer: As Tari eventually learns, some people (like Wario) cannot be reasoned with and must be beaten into submission.
  • Would Hit a Girl: It's strongly implied that Wario would have put his hands on Tari had Mario and SMG4 not intervened.
