"And the Winner Is..." provides examples of:

  • Always Someone Better: At the talent show, Angelica secretly sees Susie as this, especially when she finds out that Susie has new tap shoes that will put her ballet act to shame.
  • Broke the Rating Scale: Thanks to Angelica taking Susie's tap shoes, Susie ends up slipping and making everyone laugh. Susie's act is such a success that it ends up overloading the Applause-O-Meter and destroying it.
  • *Crack!* "Ow, My Back!": When Lou and his wife, Lulu, are practicing their dance routine for the senior division of the talent show (which appears to be based on the tango), Lou's back keeps giving out whenever he tries dipping Lulu during the routine.
  • Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat: Combined with Nice Job Fixing It, Villain—Susie wasn't planning on cheating in the talent show, but Angelica decides to sabotage her anyway (by stealing her tap shoes when she's not looking) in the hopes of a having a better chance of winning the junior division of the talent show. This forces Susie to improvise—at one point, she slips on stage without her tap shoes but the audience finds this funny, and this ultimately gives Susie the idea to turn her act into a comedy (which she indicates to her mom). Susie ends up winning the junior division of the talent show anyway.
  • Malaproper: Angelica mispronounces "catastrophe" as "apostrophe".
  • Rooting for the Empire: An In-Universe example; when Kimi says she wants Susie to win the talent show and Tommy says he wants Lou and Lulu to win, Chuckie says he wants Angelica to win. Subverted in that Chuckie explains to his sister and Tommy that, "'Cause when [Angelica] don't win, things kinda don't go too good for the rest of us."

"Dil's Bathtime" provides examples of:

  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: When Didi places Dil in his bath seat, Dil is drawn without visible genitalia.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum: When Dil splashes Didi out of fear of Tommy being eaten by a whale, she exclaims, "Dylan Pickles!"
  • Hates Baths: Due to his fear of water (and more so his fear for Tommy being in danger in the water), Dil cries whenever Didi has to bathe him.
  • Imagine Spot: While in the bathtub, Dil imagines that he is the captain of a small boat, trying to save Tommy from a giant wave and a hungry whale.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Dil. In his Imagine Spot, Dil is the captain of the small boat and doesn't begin to panic despite his fear of water...until he sees Tommy in a rowboat. That's when he begins to scream and try to get to him, trying to save him from the giant wave approaching him. Later, he imagines that his rubber duck is a giant whale. He isn't scared for himself, just watching the whale swim by him, but he is scared for Tommy and trying to save him when he thinks the whale is going to eat him. While Dil can be a brat at times, hitting Tommy and his friends and demanding constant attention, this short makes it very clear that he cares a lot about his big brother.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: One of the main reasons why Dil hates taking baths is because he is afraid of water, seeing it as a massive ocean.

"Bigger than Life" provides examples of:

  • Green-Eyed Monster: Chuckie becomes jealous of Kimi when he fears his friends like her imaginary adventures more than his own. When he explains this to Kimi, she decides to give him a chance to make his own imaginary adventure.
  • Mr. Imagination: A female example with Kimi; when she sees relatively mundane things, she imagines they're extraordinary things and takes her friends on imaginary adventures. When Chuckie gets upset and feels that his friends like Kimi's imaginary adventures more than his own, she decides to give him a chance.
  • Psycho Poodle: A subverted example with Fifi; although Kimi imagines her as a giant doggie beast, she tells her friends that she's really under the spell of an evil queen, and that they need to break the spell to bring her back to her normal self.
  • Rule of Three: Kimi makes up three imaginary adventures after seeing mundane things; first, she sees a rock as buried treasure and imagines that she and the babies are exploring a cave for the rest. Next, she imagines that a teacup is the basket of a hot air balloon that she and her friends ride in. Finally, she imagines a stick as a magic wand and takes her friends to battle a giant doggie beast.
  • Spiders Are Scary: In Chuckie's Imagine Spot, he and the babies run into a giant spider with Angelica's face.
  • Toilet Humor: This episode ends with Chuckie imagining him and his friends being attacked by a sentient dirty diaper and a sentient potty chair. He then says, "Ew! Why'd I think that?"
  • Trap Door: In Chuckie's Imagine Spot, Chuckie and his friends come to a house that has a trap door inside, and when they stand on it, they fall through it and into a dark dungeon.
