Milo and his family take an RV on a road trip across the country; knowing that Murphy's Law would make any set destination moot, they have a general philosophy of "going with the flow." They quickly run into trouble at a rest stop, when Milo, returning from the bathroom, accidentally gets into the wrong RV and winds up with another family, the Brulees, who are on their way to the Grand Canyon. Naturally the Murphys only notice Milo is gone after both families have left the rest stop.

Milo repeatedly calls his parents so that the Murphys and Brulees can meet somewhere, but of course, Murphy's Law prevents this every time. This annoys their parents, who want to keep to the same schedule that they take every year, but their twin daughters enjoy the excitement that Milo brings. The episode ends with both families in a wild, death-defying trip down the Colorado River.

Tropes:

  • 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: Whenever something falls over in this episode, it has three dimensions.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Zig-zagged in that while the Brulee twins Squee over how "dangerous" Milo is, he remains the polite, cheerful, optimistic young man we know and love. Plus, the twins gush about his sweater vest.
  • Always Identical Twins: The Brulee daughters. They even dress identically.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Diogee shows up just in time to save both families
  • Crazy-Prepared: The Murphys, as usual. They have three or four spare tires, and Milo produces an engine part out of his backpack.
  • Dissonant Serenity: This exchange.
Mr. Murphy: You must be the Brulees.
Mr. Brulee: And you must be nuts! How can you be so calm?! We are driving down a raging river, pulling a dinosaur made of ham!
Mr. Murphy: And isn't it a great day for it?
  • Heroic Pet Story: Exaggerated with Diogee traveling across what seem to be several states so that he can arrive just in time to save the Murphys and the Brulees.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: The Brulee Twins have different barrettes; a bow tie, and a heart. Unusually for the trope, despite the ID tag, the episode never reveals which twin is which.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: The Brulee Twins feel this way about Milo.
  • Road Trip Plot: The Brulee parents learn to be more easygoing and let their vacation be more about fun than fulfilling a perfect schedule. The Murphys don't really have to learn any lessons; indeed, they don't even have a set destination.
  • Running Gag: The Brulees, and at the end the Murphys, having jars similar to swear jars, except for things like "overusing the word 'grand'" or "giving sappy sentiments."
  • Shout-Out:
    • The dinosaur made of ham being attached to the Brulees' RV is reminiscent of the T-Rex chasing the car in Jurassic Park.
    • While the RVs are traveling along, we hear something that sounds a lot like "Holiday Road". Also, later in the episode, the Brulee RV drives off an incomplete road, much like Clark Griswald.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: Played for Laughs; twice the scene cuts back to Zack and Melissa, despite the fact that they're just sunbathing while Milo's life is in danger.
