Return of the Swordsman of Immortality.

Ogami returns from the hospital and is welcomed back by the Northern base crew. However, Master Logos has opened the Book Of Ruin and freed Bahato. Touma convinces Yuri to fight him to try out his theory on reaching Luna by awakening the power of Rekka. They manage to make a portal into the void where Luna is held, but Touma still fails to get her out. Worse, their experiment is crashed by Bahato, who has a score to settle with both of them for sealing him in The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin and as it turns out, also a thousand years ago.Rintaro, Ogami and Daishinji go to look for Ren, but Rintaro is intercepted by Ryoga and the fight soon descends into absolute chaos with Bahato joining in. Unfortunately, the odds start stacking up against Rintaro and Yuri...

Episode Tropes

  • The Bus Came Back: Bahato/Kamen Rider Falchion makes his debut in the show after his appearance in Kamen Rider Saber: The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin.
  • The Chosen One: References are made once again to Touma being this.
Bahato: I see, so you were the chosen one all along...
    • Fallen Hero: He also claims that Touma will inherit the great power and be consumed by it.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Ryoga is appalled when it comes out that Master Logo intentionally released Bahato, the only time so far where he has shown any disapproval for his boss' plans.
  • Laughing Mad: Bahato's response to Touma claiming to understand his pain is a loud, sarcastic laugh.
  • Madden Into Misanthropy: Yuri reveals that Bahato was driven insane by his family's death at the hands of their traitorous third ally.
  • Mêlée à Trois: Bahato crashes the fight between Durendal and Blades; taking them both down.
    • The fight between Touma and Yuri against Bahato immediately after devolves into mayhem when Kento arrives.
  • No-Sell: True to his reputation, Bahato tries to attack Master Logos on the first possible moment on the way from the Book Of Ruin, but is easily deflected.
    • This is also his Seiken's special ability, allowing him to prematurely end an enemy's Finishing Move or bypass it entirely.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Bahato may be working with the Southern Base but he is not their ally; making that very clear when he decides to attack Durendal directly.
Bahato: All swordsmen are my enemies! I will slaughter you all!
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When even your right hand enforcer disapproves of your actions, then you probably did something particularly vile, Master Logos.
    • Also, this is the first time that something elicited a different response from Ryoga than anger or indifferent determination. As it turns out the man might not be as coldblooded as a dead penguin.
  • Put on the Bus: Yuri gets hits by both Kurayami's and Kyomu's finisher at the same time, causing his human form to disappear. Saiko is then appropriated by Reika when everyone else is caught up in the heat of the battle.
  • Redemption Rejection: Touma tries to reach out to Bahato after getting to know about the Phoenix Swordsman's past, but to no avail, because Bahato is too far gone.
    • Likewise, Yuri supports Touma's effort to break through to Kento, but with mixed results. On one hand, Kento shuts them both up, but on the other hand, he jumps in to protect Touma the moment Bahato threatens his life.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Falchion crashes the fight between Blades and Durandal, Ryoga fights Bahato for a moment before deciding to pull a tactical retreat and leave Rintaro to deal with the rest.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Kento continues to display it; trying his hardest not to acknowledge his friends' attempts to reach out. Is directly called out on it by Yuri right before he fades away.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: A rare example of the one with a non-significant role gets his consequences for its actions after the third swordsman kills Bahato's family, he is killed by Bahato himself and the first was responsible for making Bahato the way he is today.
  • Sword Drag: How Bahato approaches Master Logos after fully manifesting from the Book of Ruin.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Bahato is much more of a threat here than he is in the movie, domineering over anyone that isn't Master Logos.
  • We ARE Struggling Together: Both sides each have a wild card whose very presence causes strife, Kento for the Northern Base and Bahato for the Southern. It's much more blatant with Bahato however, given he actively declares everyone his enemy from the start.
  • Wham Shot: The episode ends with Luna appearing before Touma and Kento.
