The Ice Age is over, and so begins the Neolithic Revolution, or the invention of agriculture. The result is the first civilizations, such as Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, ancient Egypt, and the Israel of Bible Times.
Tropes:
- Ancient Egypt: A good portion of this episode takes place either at the time of the Great Pyramid at Giza (2700 BC) or during the reign of Ramses the Great (1300 BC).
- Bible Times: The final segment of this episode discusses various accounts from the Old Testament, such as the Exodus, Samson and Delilah, and David and Goliath.
- Bullying a Dragon: Egyptian!Nabot soon learns not to mess with Egyptian!Jumbo or his friend.
- David Versus Goliath: With Pierrot as David and Teigneux as Goliath
- Disney Villain Death: Sumerian!Teigneux suffers one when Sumerian!Jumbo pushes him off the temple during a rebellion.
- Distracted by the Sexy: While walking through Mohenjo-Daro, Maestro is distracted by a young woman wearing golden jewelry. Unfortunately, this means he can't see where he's going, so he steps in some hot asphalt.
- The Great Flood: While they are in Sumer, Maestro, Pierrot, and Jumbo Junior are all caught in an extended rainstorm that results in a flood that nearly destroys the town. Maestro loses no time to write about it once the storm ends.
- Intimidating Revenue Service: The tax collector in the episode is portrayed as a particularly scary guy, taking one farmer's crops and having another beaten for tax fraud.
- Judgment of Solomon: The original. It helps that Maestro is King Solomon.
- Pyramid Power
- Spared by the Adaptation: One book adaptation has Sumerian!Teigneux not die but pay a heavy war tax to Sumerian!Jumbo after the former has been defeated by the latter.
- A Taste of the Lash: First, Egyptian!Teigneux uses it to get the pyramid builders working, then a tax collector has an evader beaten by one of his servants.
- They Killed Kenny Again: As a Sumerian warrior, Teigneux falls to his Disney Villain Death after Jumbo comes to quell his rebellion. As Goliath, he is also killed by being struck on the forehead by a kid with a sling.
- Universal-Adaptor Cast: In the final segment alone, Jumbo is Samson, Pierrot is David, Teigneux is Goliath, and Maestro is Solomon.
