Recap / Family Guy S 21 E 3 A Wife Changing Experience

Go To

After Joe accidentally sees Lois naked, he uses this moment to reinvigorate his sex life with Bonnie; Stewie gets an SUV and adopts the "Range Rover" lifestyle until Brian gets carsick and barfs all over it.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Pervert: Joe accidentally goes into the bathroom while Lois is in there and has just disrobed.
  • Caught with Your Pants Down: Stewie manages to get the insurance agent to give him a check for his SUV after revealing that the cameras that caught his Insurance Fraud managed to catch the agent's masturbation sessions in the hedges.
  • Dead Sparks: The reason Lois put on a "show" for Joe after the first time he saw her naked. Because Peter doesn't find her attractive anymore, Lois figures that she could at least spice up someone else's marriage. Upon finding out about it however, Peter accuses her of also having the ulterior motive of flaunting herself in front of the entire neighborhood just to boost her own ego. Joe meanwhile eventually decides that while he is grateful for what Lois has been doing for him, she needs to stop because it's actually not healthy for his marriage or his friendship with Peter. Lois doesn't take either of it well, becoming desperate enough for attention that she gets arrested trying to do it in a veterans hospital.
  • Dress Hits Floor: When Lois disrobes in the bathroom, we only see her swimsuit slide off her legs and pooling at her feet.
  • Expy Coexistence: Ellen DeGeneres is mentioned during a cutaway involving her abused staff. The Season 20 episode "LASIK Instinct" had previously introduced a fictional parody of DeGeneres named Helen Disingenuous, who apparently exists in the same universe as the real life person that she was based on.
  • Four-Fingered Hands: One of the rare instances of the characters having them is made after Stewie crashes the SUV into a mailbox. Stewie holds up three fingers to Rupert, and then realizes that the thumb is not a finger after discussing it with Rupert.
  • Hot Men at Work: Peter tries to invoke this (as payback to Lois for dressing up provocatively for Joe) by going out shirtless into the backyard to chop wood in front of the neighbors. But given Peter is fat and unattractive it causes the opposite effect.
  • Ignore the Fanservice: Lois, who is flattered by Joe's attention, attempts to seduce Peter, but he ignores her completely, to her annoyance.
  • Insurance Fraud: At the end, Stewie sets his SUV on fire, no longer able to keep up with its maintenance and the constant pressure of making sure it doesn't get dirty. He tells the insurance agent that he woke up and it was gone, despite there being video evidence that he destroyed it. Stewie resorts to blackmailing the agent into receiving the check after getting caught.
  • Lust Object: Lois becomes one to Joe after he accidentally saw her naked, with him staring to spy on her from his window.
  • Naked Freak-Out: When Joe walks in on her naked, Lois freaks out and hurriedly covers herself with a Modesty Towel while screaming at him.
  • Retargeted Lust: Joe has sex with Bonnie after being turned on from seeing Lois naked.
  • Single-Stroke Battle: When Peter punches Joe for ogling his wife, he knocks him out in one hit, to illustrate Peter is being a Jerkass for picking a fight with a paraplegic.
  • Toplessness from the Back: When Joe sees Lois naked, the audience only sees her bare back before she covers herself with a Modesty Towel.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: After Stewie picks up a very drunk Brian in his SUV, the latter pukes inside it, much to Stewie's dismay.
