Recap / Ed Edd N Eddy S 3 E 25 Once Bitten Twice Ed

Go To

After Eddy and Double D debate whether or not his latest scam would work on anyone else but Ed, Eddy becomes convinced the scam could easily work on the Cul-de-Sac kids, and despite it failing once, Eddy becomes further convinced it could work with enough 'tweaking'... Despite compiling evidence to the contrary.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: If something clearly isn't working, it's best to give up and move onto something else instead of trying to keep at it.
  • Determinator: Eddy is so committed to the scam, he refuses to give up on the scam no matter what and recycles it despite its ceasing effect it has on the kids and his tired friends showing annoyance. Not even getting hit in the face by his own walkie talkie thrown by an irritated Sarah deterred him.
  • Dinner Deformation: Ed takes the shape of his mattress as he eats it. Once he's done, however, he's back to normal.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Ed has no problem eating his own bed. It's apparently not the first time either, based on Double D's response.
  • Here We Go Again!: This trope is put into Loop mode when Eddy keeps recycling the same scam but with pathetic, meager additions of paintings and material on the same scam's entrance that the kids slowly stop coming to it altogether.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Eddy (as Baron O' Beef Dip) orders Ed to "Wolf down the Non-believer!!" (Edd) Cue Edd pulling an Oh, Crap! face.
  • Never Recycle Your Schemes: Averted; Eddy keeps recycling the scam over and over again, much to everybody’s irritation.
  • No Ending: There is no proper conclusion to this episode, Eddy is still using this scam and proudly calls it golden even though all the kids have seen it for themselves twice that it's a rip-off.
  • Potty Emergency: A comment from Ed about needing to pee makes Eddy decide to change his scam to Bathroom World...Only for Ed to wreck said iteration by using one of the toilets.
  • Screaming at Squick: Edd when he observes in horror and disgust Ed eating his own mattress.
Edd: (has Ed's toy rocket stuck in his ear) Excuse me Ed, but is this your— GOOD LORD, MAN!
  • Ventriloquism: Eddy uses a walkie-talkie to trick Ed into believing that his toy idol is "Baron O' Beef Dip". Eddy keeps using the same trick to get the kids to the woods by making them think an object is talking to them.
