Paige protects a future Whitelighter against a Darklighter who is excited at the prospect of defeating a Charmed One. Piper is convinced that the Jenkins sisters are the threat they have to eliminate, while Phoebe is on the fence and tries to talk with Billie. Christy makes a potion that makes the Charmed Ones fall asleep and sends Billie into their dreams so that she could see that they no longer care about the greater good.
Tropes
- Actor Allusion: Rose McGowan was filming Death Proof and Planet Terror with Quentin Tarantino during this season. Here, her character Paige wonders why she never has dreams involving Tarantino.
- The Alcoholic: Mikel is implied to have a drinking problem, asking for something alcoholic after the darklighter attack.
- Berserk Button: Piper is annoyed by everyone saying variations of "you just want Leo back", feeling it's being used to diminish her credibility.
- Call-Back: Just as in "Long Live the Queen", when one character has made a FaceāHeel Turn, Piper's way of dealing with it is to start making potions in case of a fight.
- Color Wash: The dream universe is lit with Unnaturally Blue Lighting.
- Compressed Vice: Paige's desire to find enlightenment comes a bit out of nowhere in this episode, as opposed to Piper and Phoebe's inner desires.
- Damsel in Distress: Mikel is a young woman kidnapped by darklighters to lure Paige to their lair.
- Erotic Dream: Phoebe's dream sees her making out with Coop. On hearing about this Piper is annoyed that Phoebe got to have a sexy dream while she was dealing with her Leo issues.
- Foreshadowing: Piper's dream shows a house full of grandchildren, and an elderly version of Leo. Both will come to pass in the finale.
- Gaslighting: Christy tries to get Billie to believe that the Charmed Ones only wanted her so they could shirk their responsibilities and never cared about her.
- Hypocrite: Christy insists that the Charmed Ones have to be taken out because they don't care about saving innocents. She's put them under a spell to convince Billie of this, with the side effect that Paige's charge is left defenceless, and Christy stops Billie from trying to help her.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Piper throws a potion at Billie and Christy when she intrudes on her and Phoebe's secret meeting, which only gives Christy more ammo to turn Billie against the sisters.
