Milo must brave the mysterious deep end of the pool to retrieve little Max's bathing suit while wearing his protective (yet itchy) wool sweater made by his grandma.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Big "NO!": The episode starts this way as Milo is forced to wear his grandma's itchy protective sweater that she made since he has to visit her at the retirement home.
  • Bubblegum Popping / Covered in Gunge: One of Milo's failed solutions on getting Max's bathing suit back from the "pool monster" was to feed him garlic gum so it can spit the suit out after chewing it, which backfired as since the "pool monster" swallowed it whole, it lead to him blowing a huge bubble and pops at Lizbeth, causing her to get covered with yucky gum everywhere.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Milo is forced to use his grandma's sweater that she made throughout the episode as he needs to visit her at the retirement home. Eventually, when he takes off the sweater later in the episode due to it making him too hot, it causes the pool filter to explode and spits out Max's bathing suit and the missing retirement home money, eventually solving his problem.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • To get Max's bathing suit back from the pool filter (which Milo imagines with his visor to be "a giant octopus-stingray killer mutant bot monster"), Milo uses his barrel of monkeys to try to retrieve the bathing suit. However, he then sees the monster, scaring him which causes him to let go of the monkeys and didn't retrieve the suit back from it.
    • Milo uses his yucky garlic gum to feed the "pool monster" so it can spit out the suit after chewing the gum. However, due to the "pool monster" swallowing the gum whole, it lead to him blowing out a huge bubble which then pops at Lizbeth, causing her to get covered with yucky gum everywhere.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Lizbeth sees the pool filter's off button near the pool so she tells Milo to go over there. Although Lizbeth tells Milo that he's getting warmer and warmer to the off button, he was instead thinking of his grandma's sweater making him so hot, he could barely move. This lead to him having an idea from his "Bird Brain" as since the sweater is making him too hot, he decided to take it off and drops it to the pool to see what will happen to the "pool monster", which was not what Lizbeth was telling him to do. Eventually, his plan worked as after his sweater landed on the pool filter, it causes it to malfunction due to the pressure of the sweater, causing it to explode and spits out Max's bathing suit, which he retrieves back shortly afterward. However, although Max's bathing suit was retrieved back, Milo unfortunately loses his grandma's sweater, causing him to get in trouble from his parents. Eventually, a reporter then enters the room to congratulate Milo's heroic act by sacrificing his sweater in order to help a little kid in trouble and retirement home's missing money (which the filter also spits out after it exploded), which was what Lizbeth needed for her story from the newsdesk. Milo then apologizes for losing the sweater which his grandma says it was okay as she has another sweater that she made for him to use.
  • Shout-Out: The Episode Title Card is a reference to Jaws, having a giant octopus-stingray killer mutant bot monster be in place of the shark.
  • Slippery Swimsuit: Max calls for the Captain to help as he lost bathing suit after the pool water filter has taken it, leaving him completely naked in the pool.
  • Suddenly Shouting: Milo suddenly starts shouting when Owen asks him about if his grandma's sweater is too hot and didn't think of taking it off.
Owen: Hi, Milo. You visiting your grandma too?
Milo: Yes, I'm visiting my grandma.
Owen: Did you forget your bathing suit or something?
Milo: No, I did not forget my bathing suit or something.
Owen: Well aren't you hot in that sweater?
Milo: YES, I'M HOT IN THIS SWEATER!!!
[his yelling pushes Owen to the adult swim lane of the pool, the lifeguard blows his whistle]
Lifeguard: You, water wings, out of the adult swim lane.
    [Owen swims back to Milo]
Owen: Well, why don't you take it off then?
Milo: GEE, I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT!!!
[his yelling pushes Owen back to the adult swim lane of the pool, the lifeguard blows his whistle again]
Lifeguard: I'm not telling you again.
Lizbeth: Boy, you're in a bad mood.

Milo faces off against a gargantuan basement spider to rescue Max's baseball mitt from the scary, scary basement. But what about Milo's French horn recital? The one he hasn't practiced for! At all! Who will save him from that?

Tropes in this episode:

  • Chekhov's Gun: Milo didn't practice for his French horn recital, causing him to play it badly. He eventually uses it again later in the episode to try to play a lullaby to make the spider tired, which although he didn't play good, the plan eventually worked as the spider started to sleep and went away.
  • Continuity Nod: Just when Milo, Lizbeth and Max all land in a spider web, you can see Milo's grandma's sweater from the previous segment as one of the things stuck to the web.
  • Creepy Basement: Max calls the Captain for help as he is too scared to go down to his creepy basement in order to retrieve his baseball mitt back in time for his big game, as it's home to a gargantuan fang spider. When Milo tries going there for the first time, he too gets scared as well.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Milo uses his glow-in-the-dark eyes to put on him, Lizbeth and Max as once the spider's sees these, it'll think it's outnumbered and will run away. It didn't work out well as the spider was preparing herself to eat them, causing them to retreat.
    • Milo then uses his extendo-grabber to grab the baseball mitt back to give it to Max. However, the extendo-grabber instead grabs Milo rather than the mitt, causing him to get pulled away and eventually grabs Lizbeth and Max, throwing them all to a spider web.
    • Since the spider has eight legs, Milo decided to use his automatic appendage pack to gain extra hands in order to have eight legs like the spider so the spider will get him. This leads to spider starts falling in love with him and prepares a nice dinner for him. Unfortunately, it turns out that he is the dinner.
  • Dreadful Musician: Since he didn't practice at all for his French horn recital, Milo plays his French horn very badly.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Although it seemed the like the spider was defeated after getting hit in a stew pot just when Milo is about to get Max's baseball mitt with no problem, the spider then escapes from the pot, leading him to use his "Bird Brain" to think of a solution. Lizbeth suggests to him to play dead, but he instead tells Lizbeth to give out his French horn to him so he can try playing a lullaby to make the spider start getting sleepy. Unfortunately, he plays the horn terribly due to him not practicing for his recital, leading him to take a long time on trying to play it correctly causing Lizbeth and Max to start getting tired and both falls asleep. Eventually, it worked as the spider started to sleep and goes away, leading to Milo getting Max's baseball mitt back to him, safe and sound.
  • Stewed Alive: After the spider starts to like Milo, she puts him in a stew as she is preparing to eat him for dinner.
