  • Date First Aired: 16/01/2014

After the events of the previous episodes, Sharon is complaining about Dorien being her new manager. After everyone leaves, Marcie reveals to Tracey that her libido (which Tracey thinks refers to an Italian brand) has faded. Tracey concludes that it's because they don't have any space, so she decides to give Poppy the box room, much to Sharon's annoyance.

Tracey and Sharon end up on the couch and a pump up bed downstairs respectively. On the bright side, the sex lives of Garth and Marcie have picked up. When Travis and his friends come in, Sharon tries going up into the attic to sleep, but finds something which could change everything - £49,500 of cash in a bin bag.

The family considers what to do with the money, not being sure exactly where the money came from. Tracey leaves it for now whilst she considers what to do with it. Meanwhile, Sharon takes some of the money and takes it with her to her job. However, she claims to have swapped it with the money in the till. Dorien reveals that the founder (a man named Barry Quid) wants her to take on an upmarket branch elsewhere. However, Garth reveals that the money wasn't Darryl's - he was stashing it for these two brothers. Sharon thinks she's in trouble - until Dorien reveals that they don't have any real cameras - just dummy ones. Luckily for Sharon and Tracey, Poppy doesn't like sleeping on her own, so they get the box room back.

Tropes In This Episode:

  • Air Quotes: Dorien visually puts quotes around "working" when complaining to Sharon about eating during company hours. Both Sharon and Tracey respond by putting air quotes around "important".
  • Apologises a Lot: Tracey keeps apologizing to Marcie:
Tracey: I don't really know anything about Italian cars. (Beat) Sorry.
Marcie: You don't have to keep apologizing.
Tracey: Sorry, it's an English habit. Sorry.
  • Big Eater: Sharon manages to eat seven waffles and asks for more (although she insists that she only ate 6 of them).
  • Gasshole: Sharon farts whilst she's on the couch with Tracey.
  • Celebrity Paradox: Tracey mentions Loose Women as one of the shows that she's annoyed by. Presumably, she's annoyed that one of the panelists looks exactly like her as her actress, Linda Robson, was one of the panelists on the show at the time.
  • Fright-Induced Bunkmate: Poppy returns to her mother and step-father's room after she is scared by what sounded to her to be a big scary monster of the night (in reality Sharon trying to get sleep in the attic).
  • "Getting My Own Room" Plot: The plot is kickstarted when Tracey, wanting to give Garth and Marcie some space for their sex life, moves Poppy to her room, leading to Sharon and Tracey sleeping on the couch, At the end of the episode though, Poppy moves back, having become scared of sleeping on her own.
  • The Ghost: Eddie and Keith Coker, two psychotic brothers who force Darryl to stash cash.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places:
    • According to Sharon, Tracey and Darryl used to make love in the garden shed outback. With Sharon watching.
    • At the end of the episode, Garth and Marcie have sex on the couch. Tracey, who was still sleeping there, manages to avoid to get away from the couch and away from the room without them noticing.
  • Mistaken for Flatulence: Sharon's air mattress makes a noise much like a fart when Sharon gets on it, leading to Tracey accusing Sharon of farting.
  • Momma's Boy: Sharon accuses Travis of being one when he decides to clean up the dishes for Tracey.
  • Namesake Gag: It's revealed that "World of Quid" was named after its founder, Barry Quid. Sharon is surprised at this and actually asks if that is true (it is).
Dorien: I've just had the most exhilarating session with our founder, Barry Quid.
Sharon: Barry Quid? It ain't his real name, is it?
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sharon puts the lives of the others in danger when she dips into the cash that was being stashed for Eddie and Keith.
  • Shout-Out: The episode title is a reference to the The Rolling Stones song "Hot Stuff".
  • Stealing from the Till: Upon learning that the security cameras from "World of Quid" are fake, Sharon briefly considers nicking from the till to make up for her using money from the Coker brother's stash, although Tracey shoots her down.
  • Struggling Single Mother: Marcie admits she was in a bad place before she met Garth, trying to raise a child on her own in Australia.
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: Thanks to Sharon's exploits in the attic, Poppy fears that there is a monster up in the roof and elects to stay with her parents.
  • Toilet Humour: Sharon's pump-up bed blows out with a noise that sounds a lot like a fart. Sharon ends up farting in the bed for real once she's on the couch bed with Tracey.
  • Wealth's in a Name: Barry Quid, the founder of a successful chain of discount stores.
