And now for something completely different...

The first (and so far only) episode of Season 3 of Battle for Dream Island, in which the characters have somehow ended up in Yoyleland, where FreeSmart attempts to record their video diary, Fries tries to grow some Grotatoes with Pin trying to befriend him, and Golf Ball and Tennis Ball find a wall teleporter in a foreboding museum.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Back from the Dead: Woody returns in this episode...only to catch fire when Bomby explodes.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: In "Get in the Van", Tennis Ball laments that Rocky didn't win the elimination prize because he wanted him to gain his barfing powers back, much to the disgust of his teammates. He's gotten them back anyway by the events of this episode, and TB absolutely hates how much he's barfing.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Fries asks Bomby how many lines he has for the entire episode, to which Bomby replies, "Two!" (His other line is "What?!")
  • Breather Episode: This episode is the first and rather only episode of the series where the characters are not competing in a challenge as contestants and are just living life normally and having a Slice-of-Life kind of adventure. Pin tries to make friends with Fries, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are hanging out with each other, and the FreeSmarters are just having fun with each other living on top of the Yoyle Needy.
  • Camera Obscurer: Ruby is implied to have done this every day for three years because she doesn't know what a lens cap is.
  • Color Failure: Golf Ball extracted the pigmentation from Pin's body six months prior to the events of this episode in order to make new limbs for her.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Golf Ball is heavily implied to have one of these. A flashback shows a white ball (which is presumably her) hiding behind a vase as a spiked club proceeds to smash them. What happened afterward is currently unknown, but the incident most certainly left her traumatized.
  • Department of Redundancy Department:
Golf Ball: Needle, we're going to enter the Science Museum of Yoyle City on our eternal quest to create innovation and creation.
Tennis Ball: You just said "create creation".
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: IDFB is different from the rest of the series, playing out more like an animated sitcom than a reality show.
  • Gilligan Cut: Pin exclaims that Golf Ball knows how to solve (like) anything. Cut to Golf Ball, who says the exact opposite.
  • If Only You Knew: Golf Ball scolds Needle to slap "a few strangers" for her and says they probably called her Needy behind her back. Turns out Pencil and Book did exclaim "needy" for other unrelated reasons, but react as if she was about to slap them.
  • Lighter and Softer: This episode is this in spades. There are no challenges the characters have to face and they don't compete against each other. The episode plays out like a sitcom show rather than a reality show. The episode features a Slice-of-Life kind of tone.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: In an interesting variation of this trope, it is the audience that do not know what had happened in BFDIA episode 6 or what had happened during the three years the show went on hiatus because of Ruby not knowing what a lens cap is and because there was no money left to have BFDIA episode 6 premiere.
  • Noodle Incident: Due to the viewers being Locked Out of the Loop for three years, we did not see any of the situations the characters are in and how and why they got in the situation. We only learn that Puffball was eliminated in BFDIA episode 6, Pin lost her color but regained her limbs, Fries lost all but one of his fries, Rocky regained his barfing abilities back sometime during the three years, and Firey got punished for something that apparently was bad enough to be caged and left dangling over the edge of the Yoyle Needy for an unknown amount of time.
  • No Social Skills: Pin has terrible social skills to say the least. She even mentions that making friends is hard and questions why that is when she tries to make friends with Fries.
  • Not the Fall That Kills You…: Pencil falls off the Yoyle Needy, and Book and Ice Cube run down to catch her, while Ruby jumps down the flight of stairs. Book and Ice Cube catch Pencil just before she reaches the ground, while Ruby shatters on impact.
  • Shout-Out: One of the items on display in the science museum is the Weighted Companion Cube from Portal.
  • Throwing Off the Disability: Pin gets her limbs back after losing them, but loses her red color.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Fries seems to have gotten a lot more optimistic in this episode; for example, exclaiming that his Grotatoes will taste delicious. Also, despite being annoyed by Pin trying to befriend him and being grumpy towards her, he doesn't shoo her away and keeps his patience with her and explains that he is gardening to grow some special potatoes called "Grotatoes", to make some more fries for himself.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Pin is extremely friendly in this episode and is much kinder than how she usually is. It is implied that during the three years the characters were living in Yoyleland, Pin matured and became kinder with Character Development. Pin even tries to befriend Fries throughout the episode and make small talk with him.
  • Wham Episode: Pin gets new limbs after losing them in BFDIA 5. Firey is also caged and dangling over the Yoyle Needy for something he did. Also, it is revealed that Ruby somehow has access to the BFDIA 6 voting results where Puffball got eliminated.
    • We also get a bit of surprising information that Golf Ball had a Dark and Troubled Past with an unknown person and the museum in Yoyleland if the flashback is any indication.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In one scene Nickel shows up to discover Pin's lack of red color. Later when Coiny shows up, he disappears for the rest of the episode.
