  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: In order to save Black Lightning, Metamorpho, and Katana from Psycho Pirate's dream projector, Batman decides to enter the dream projector anyways despite Psycho Pirate warning him how risky his decision is. In the end however, Batman is able to overcome his escalating rage and fight back against Psycho Pirate with happy emotions.
  • Blatant Lies: Batman insists his only interest in Catwoman is her rehabilitation. Green Arrow doesn't buy it.
  • Buffy Speak: "You're flirting! Flirterers!"
  • Dating Catwoman: The teaser, as Batman and Catwoman repeatedly flirt with each other, much to Green Arrow's annoyance.
  • Death Trap: The episode's teaser opens on a pillar Catwoman has Green Arrow and Batman tied to, with a couple of tigers scratching away at the pillar.
  • Freudian Excuse: Psycho Pirate suggests Katana is The Quiet One because "her big mouth" caused Takeo to learn Tadashi had the sword and strike him down to try to get it.
  • Funny Background Event: As Catwoman happily reacts to Batman calling her lovely, her two mooks glance at each other.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Black Lightning's dream is him lashing out at every little thing that annoys him, such as sprinkles on coffee, wearing white after labor day, and the release of Smell That Pig IV.
Black Lightning: Relax?! How can I relax when I know something like that is coming to a theater near me?!
  • I Warned You: After Batman breaks free, one of the mooks tells Catwoman that he warned her to take his utility belt away.
  • Knockout Gas: Catwoman has some in her makeup compact, which is how Batman and Green Arrow ended up in a Death Trap. Green Arrow says Batman should've seen it coming since he's fought her about two dozen times.
  • Logical Weakness: Happy emotions are Psycho Pirate's weakness as seen as when Batman confronts him and weakens him with each blow he delivers to Psycho Pirate.
  • The One That Got Away: Catwoman after her escape through an open window.
  • Origins Episode: Katana's dream fills in her background, including failing Tadashi and getting the sword.
  • Skewed Priorities: As they're in a Death Trap, Green Arrow would prefer less talk and more utility belt action.
  • Stepford Smiler: Deep down, Metamorpho resents the way he looks and being perceived as a freak. Black Lightning can't believe it since Metamorpho always seems so upbeat.
  • We Need a Distraction: In order to save not only Green Arrow but also himself, Batman keeps Catwoman distracted by continuing to hit on her.
