Recap / Aqua Teen Hunger Force S 7 E 9 Multiple Meat

Go To

Shake discovers Meatwad's fantastical ability to split into multiple, smaller Meatwads. His attempts to get rid of them only creates more.

Tropes:

  • The Ageless: Unlike Shake and Frylock, none of the Meatwads show any signs of aging during the 27 year Time Skip.
  • Big "NO!": After Frylock leaves, this is Shake's reaction to the Meatwads starting over on the "3 million bottles of beer on the wall" song.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Frylock tells Shake that if he stopped chopping the Meatwads up, they'd stop multiplying. Shake is unable to stop, due to his cruelty to Meatwad and his impulsive nature being his entire character.
  • Driven to Suicide: At the end of the episode, as Frylock drives off and the Meatwads decide to sing "3 million bottles of beer on the wall..." again, a flash and gunshot from where Shake was occurs, indicating he decided to kill himself instead of deal with the Meatwads singing again after 27 years.
  • Ear Ache: During Frylock's visit to the house for the first time in 27 years, Shake reveals he cut off his ears to try to do something about the Meatwads' constant singing.
  • Evil Is Petty: Shake's reasoning for "punishing" Meatwad is because he "thought" about doing something wrong.
  • Eye Scream: Shake did this to himself with oyster forks at some point during the Time Skip.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Carl teaches the Meatwads how to play poker with flash cards as a scheme to get some money. Even though he knows a chicken was never president, he doesn't realize until picking up the money it's fake from a board game, much to his ire.
  • Feeling Oppressed by Their Existence: Shake despises the multiple Meatwads despite the fact that they aren’t bothering him.
  • Lampshade Hanging: During the fake poker game, the 7th Meatwad uses the recurring catchphrase "I ain't got no damn money..." For once, someone acknowledges it, namely Carl, who tells him if he "ain't got no damn money" that's when he leaves the table.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Because he made up a petty reason to chop Meatwad in half, Shake unintentionally created a small population of Meatwads that drove him crazy after 27 years of singing and killed himself to get away.
  • Lazy Bum: While Frylock moves out of the house to get away from the Meatwads and ends up living a massively successful life, Master Shake would rather hole up in a bedroom and puncture his eyes and ears out (and eventually commit suicide) than look for a new home or do something to improve his circumstances.
  • Me's a Crowd: Meatwad's lack of a brain means that each piece of him gains sentience. Although, he only has two eyes and one tooth, which do not get duplicated and have to be shared. Although, the Meatwads don't really accomplish much, especially since their attempt to form a government was halted because they kept offering to bring juice boxes.
  • Nice Guy: All of the Meatwads are extremely nice to each other, to the point where Meatwad and the first copy spent months outside, dealing with weather like snow, because each one was politely offering to let the other in first.
  • No Sympathy: Frylock is quite content to leave Shake to his misery. He even makes it worse by suggesting the Meatwads sing "3 million bottles of beer on the wall" before he leaves.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Frylock moves out rather than put up with the large group of Meatwads.
  • Time Skip: The Meatwads sang "3 million bottles of beer on the wall" for 27 years, likely screwing up and restarting. The last few minutes take place after those years.
  • Too Dumb to Fool: Carl trying to scam the Meatwads out of their money with a fake poker game turns out to be for naught, as they were betting with fake money from a board game the entire time.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: It’s made clear that Frylock is being held back from greatness by his codependency on his loser roommates.
  • Where's the Fun in That?: Frylock points out that if he stops chopping up Meatwad, they'll stop multiplying. Shake pauses before stating that's no fun.
  • Writers Cannot Do Math: It apparently took 27 years for the Meatwads to finish singing "3 million bottles of beer on the wall". There are approximately 12 seconds in each verse of the song, so if they were to do each verse correctly without any pauses or screw-ups, it should've only taken little more than a whole year to finish the entire song. Then again, this is not taking into account the fact that the Meatwads are likely to have messed up repeatedly or decided to keep singing the song over and over again.
