Basic Trope: This kid's hairstyle screams Criminal in the Making.

  • Straight: Barbaric Bully Flash Young is most often known for having a massive pompadour.
  • Exaggerated: Flash's Anime Hair-style pompadour is so gargantuan that it could also double as a blunt force weapon. And it's also constantly oscillating between hair colors (yes, in real time), has several spikes all over it that makes it look like some kind of spiked baseball bat, which are also counted as Idiot Hair, just plain shows Flash's comedically Villainous Widow's Peak (which stretches all the way to the back of his head), is practically immune to bad hair days (though it could be inferred that this pompadour is on a perpetual Bad Hair Day), and is basically just so improbable that it just looks plain ridiculous.
  • Downplayed: Flash has a rather small but noticeable pompadour, though others may mistake it for a faux-hawk.
  • Justified:
    • Flash genuinely thought it was a good idea.
    • Flash wanted to show how much of a delinquent it was.
  • Inverted: Flash is both nice and keeps his hair groomed well.
  • Subverted:
    • Flash, despite being the most horrific Barbaric Bully around, has a clean, side swept haircut.
    • Flash has a huge pompadour, yet is considered a role model.
  • Double Subverted:
  • Parodied:
    • Flash's pompadour is hereditary; His father Harry wears a pompadour, his Cool Big Sis Hillary rocks a pompadour too, and as it turns out that his Kid from the Future Jerry will be wearing a pompadour too. And of course, they're all barbaric bullies and delinquents at that.
    • Ditto, but each family member has their own weird and wacky takes on their pompadours (Harry is by far the most normal, Hillary wears a black pompadour in the shape of a mining drill head with a bit of red hair dye at the end, Flash has the above exaggeration, and Ryuji has a blond axe shaped pompadour).
    • There are different types of pompadours that are named after weapons: For example, the sword pompadour (which is basically a regent haircut from Japan but vertically oriented and shaped like a sword), the axe pompadour (in the shape of an axe head), the drill pompadour (in the shape of a drill, either a hand held drill bit or a full blown mining drill head), the club pompadour (in the shape of a club), the spiked club pompadour (the above, but with Spiky Hair), the spear pompadour (a longer pompadour which is also spiky at the very end), a halberd pompadour (a mix of the axe and spear pompadour), a kusarigama pompadour (the front of the pompadour is shaped like a sickle, and has a pony tail with a curled up ball at the very end), and so much more.
  • Zig-Zagged: Flash's hairstyle tends to fluctuate with how much of a crook he's feeling; The pompadour grows and has more ludicrous hair accessories if he feels like being evil, but shrinks and becomes more clean and uptight if he feels like being nice.
  • Averted: Flash, an average kid, has a rather average hairstyle.
  • Enforced: If Flash's Barbaric Bully antics weren't enough to convince the viewers that he's a criminal in the making, then surely the comedically oversized pompadour would be enough.
  • Lampshaded: "Good grief, Flash! You're telling the whole WORLD you're a criminal in the making with that hairstyle!"
  • Invoked: After becoming much meaner and angrier, Flash slicks his hair up and back into a pompadour for a mean new look.
  • Exploited: Flash gets his hair set on fire due to being such a big target.
  • Defied: Flash chooses not to get such a bizarre and ludicrous hairstyle, only having it slicked back.
  • Discussed: "Christ, how does Flash even do his hair in the morning?"
  • Conversed: "This guy's a complete eyesore to look at! His hair is so distracting!"

Hey, watch the Delinquent Hair! I put hours into this sweet baby, ya dig!?
