Basic Trope: Attractive, subordinate individuals who deal with the mundane elements of command.

  • Straight: The Bridge Bunnies give warnings, activate things, and deal with hailing frequencies amongst others.
  • Exaggerated: The Bridge Bunnies are The Beautiful Elite and yet also living props, seeming to have no life outside their job.
  • Downplayed: The Bridge Bunnies are reasonably attractive people, and whilst they deal with the mundane matters also have notable personalities.
  • Justified:
      Advertisement:
    • The Bridge Bunnies got their positions because of nepotism.
    • The Bridge Bunnies were formerly models, actors and actresses who went into the military.
    • They're not qualified for higher level work.
    • There needs to be someone to help out Bob and the attractive Bunnies are the only ones qualified.
    • Everyone in this world is rather attractive.
    • The Bridge Bunnies are Designer Babies trained for the job as they grew up.
    • The Bridge Bunnies are Robot Girls designed to look like attractive women.
    • The Bridge Bunnies are from a race of Green Skinned Space Babes, or some other type of human-like alien, and their inherent traits make them well-suited to the job.
  • Inverted: The Bridge 'Bunnies' are horrifying, utterly unhelpful bastards.
  • Gender Inverted: Alice has a whole crew of fanservicey guys running the bridge to the point where it looks like she hired entirely from a selection of lifeguards, male models, and boy bands.
  • Advertisement:
  • Subverted: The Bridge Bunnies are actually the teenage children of the real staff, brought in because its "Bring Your Child To Work Day".
  • Double Subverted: ...However the ''real'' Bridge Bunnies are rather young themselves for the job.
  • Parodied: The command bridge is effectively a BDSM dungeon, with the Bridge Bunnies as sensual submissives and Bob their dominator.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: The command bridge simply isn't disproportionately filled with attractive individuals, being staffed with skill first in mind.
  • Enforced: "The show needs more eye candy, so let's make the bridge crew a bunch of attractive twentysomethings!"
  • Lampshaded: "What the-!? Is this a harem or something, I cannot believe you happened to find enough twentysomethings to serve as crew!"
  • Invoked: Bob, the base's commander, deliberately picks attractive twentysomethings to fill out his crew.
  • Advertisement:
  • Exploited: Drake manipulates and seduces several of Bob's Bridge Bunnies to learn about the command structure.
  • Defied: "My bridge crew shall be staffed with fully qualified people, not serve as some bizarre harem!"
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Though the command bridge is never seen, Alice is well-known as a member of the bridge crew and yet nobody seems to think that's weird.
  • Deconstructed: The Bridge Bunnies have to keep up regular maintenance to look their best, meaning valuable time they should be using for their job is instead being spent getting their nails done or a spray tan amongst others. Thus when a critical moment comes along, they weren't properly prepared and a catastrophe happens.
  • Reconstructed: Whilst the Bridge Bunnies are rather attractive, they rely on their natural beauty instead of artificially enhancing themselves. Thus, though they aren't drop dead gorgeous, nobody can really deny their attractiveness or effectiveness.
  • Played For Laughs: The Bridge Bunnies troll Bob by coming into work with fake bunny ears or even a flat out Playboy Bunny outfit, leaving the poor man confused.
  • Played For Drama: Bob and the Bridge Bunnies, at one point or another, ends up seducing one another. Everyone in the crew bridge thus having an uncomfortable past relationship, the workforce effective drops because they can't help thinking back to the failed romances.
