Basic Trope: Breathing out or vomiting fourth a substance which it uses as a weapon; usually fire or Pure Energy.

  • Straight: Anacondor, the Giant Winged Serpent, can spew forth a gout of fire.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Anacondor's antimatter breath can drill to the Earth's very core, and will destroy anything it touches.
    • Anacondor has an entire suite of breath weapons for every situation.
    • Every species in existence has a breath weapon, no exceptions whatsoever.
  • Advertisement:
  • Downplayed: Anacondor's spit is unusually strong acid, but isn't good for much else but a holdout weapon.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: Anacondor sucks in a deep breath... and just roars extremely loudly.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Nonplussed, Alice breathes her own cone of fire at him.
    • The roar is a prelude to the actual fire breath, in all it's devastating glory.
  • Parodied:
    • Malfunction Malady: Anacondor ends up breathing fire whenever he sneezes.
    • The fire ends up coming out the wrong end, much to Anacondor's embarrassment.
    • Anacondor has to breathe fire in as well as out, and is reliant of his flamethrower gas-mask to survive.
  • Advertisement:
  • Zig Zagged: Anacordor can normally breathe fire, but if he has a cold it become ice instead, and if he has a cough he's unable to do it at all.
  • Averted: No-one in-series breaths out anything but CO2, not even the dragons. note
  • Enforced: It's a biography of a fire-breather with the stage name Anacondor; in order to be accurate, it has to include this feat.
  • Lampshaded:
  • Invoked:
  • Exploited:
  • Defied: Bob uppercuts Anacondor in the jaw before he can finish breathing the fire out, leaving it to comically explode in the snake's face.
  • Advertisement:
  • Discussed: "What is it with reptiles and fire breathing? I was nearly toasted by a stegosaurs yesterday...
  • Conversed: "Aaaah yes, breathing atomic hate. No Kajiu movie is complete without it."
  • Implied: Anacondor is very dragonlike, and smoke seeps from his mouth whenever he talks...
  • Deconstructed:
  • Reconstructed :
    • A powerful exhalation is used as a propellant, but the material to be ignited is stored in a separate chamber which is blocked off by a membrane at all times except when Anacondor exhales forcefully - this prevents the contents from entering the lungs. Anacondor's lungs are abnormally tough (and/or regenerate abnormally quickly without scarring) to avoid being severely damaged through sudden contractions. As an end result, Anacondor's lungs function as normal for all of his natural lifespan.
    • Anacondor's fire breath is a 2-part chemical reaction, and just hitting the gland with fire will not make it explode. He gives kudos to Bob for trying, though.
