Main installments:

    Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
  • Hifumi and Alter Ego, because the latter is an Artificial Intelligence in a laptop. The fact that Hifumi refers to Alter Ego as a "she" despite the fact that he looks exactly like Chihiro, his recently-deceased male classmate, does not help much.
  • Some people have this reaction towards the ships that involve the killers and their victims, such as Leon/Sayaka, Mondo/Chihiro, and Celeste/Hifumi.
  • Toko/Byakuya. Despite Toko's reverence of him, the dynamic between them is Toko/Jill crushing on him with lecherous intent and stalkerish tendencies, while Byakuya does nothing but hurl insults her way, insult her or ignore her entirely. Then again, he does that with everyone.
    Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
  • Once again, victim-killer ships are often controversial. Although less so than the first game as many are extremely popular, in particular Ibuki and Mikan as well as Chiaki and Nagito. Mahiru and Peko, Gundham and Nekomaru, and Teruteru and Twogami also have a relative fanbase. However, there's two victim killer ships that tend to be widely disliked:
    • Hiyoko and Mikan is understandably not a popular ship due to Hiyoko spending 3 chapters being a bitch towards Mikan as well as the fact that Mikan slit Hiyoko's throat, tied her kimono slash in front (representing a prostitute), and tied her lifeless body to a pillar.
    • Fuyuhiko and Mahiru initially seems like a rather fun rivalry with shipping potential because of how often they snark at each other but then Fuyuhiko gets Mahiru brutally beaten to death. While technically Peko was Mahiru's killer, it can still fall under a victim-killer ship because Mahiru's death was directly caused by Fuyuhiko's actions. If not for Peko, Fuyuhiko would have killed Mahiru in a fit of abusive rage.
  • Monomi and Monokuma is widely disliked because Monokuma calls Monomi his sister and he spends the entirety of the game beating her up and taunting her over the deaths of her students.
  • Although it does have its shippers, many despise Sonia x Soda because he refuses to respect her boundaries and evidently creeps her out. Works in reverse as well since, warranted or not, some don't like the harsh way Sonia treats Kazuichi, such as ignoring him or outright hoping he'd be the killer.
  • Teruteru with anyone, with Peko and Sonia in particular, because of how he creeps everyone out.
  • In Chapter 6, AI Junko claims that if the survivors vote for "Graduate", she'll take over the bodies of anyone who died within the simulation. This next exchange had many a player's skin crawling.
AI Junko: The data of everyone who died is stored within me, so I'm sure I can convincingly act out their personalities.
    Fuyuhiko: D-Don't mess with me...!
AI Junko: In fact, I have a looooooot of data on Fuyuhiko, so I know some things that'll make you happy... I could play a version of Peko that's more to your liking than she ever was!
Fuyuhiko: I said... DON'T FUCKING MESS WITH ME!!!
Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School
  • The little... scene between Junko and Tsumiki in episode 8 of Side:Despair. Between the severe Fan Disservice, blatant Domestic Abuse and the strong implication that Tsumiki was literally brainwashed, anyone who wasn't already disturbed by their relationship is now.
  • To say nothing of Tsumiki's little, um, moment with a traumatized Mitarai in the same episode. Let's just say it was... unsettling, for lack of a better term.
  • Chisa and Chiaki have a little scene in episode 10 of Side:Despair, in which Chisa suddenly forgets about personal space and appropriate touching because she's Brainwashed and Crazy and about to push her into a death trap dungeon.
  • Junko also has Les Yay moments with Chiaki, but considering Junko's track record with the people she loved, it comes off as this. Their interaction in Despair episode 9 does have a slightly rape-y undertone to it - at first glance, when Junko walked up to Chiaki, the scene looked like Junko forced a kiss on Chiaki, complete with Chiaki's startled expression. Later the camera angle changes, showing that Junko is just uncomfortably close to Chiaki's face. If one pays attention to Junko's eyes, you would notice them actually looking down, seemly toward Chiaki's breasts. Afterwards, Junko happily announces that she wants them to be friends after she plans to Mind Rape her. The darkest implication of Junko's possible attraction is when she personally tortured Chiaki, in a long dragged out fashion. The way Junko did it was eerily similar to how she killed the two people she loved most, Yasuke and Mukuro, with the mental torture of the former and the same manner of execution as the latter.
  • Rounding out Junko's collection of No Yay is when, on a rooftop with Mukuro and Izuru, she knocks Mukuro down to the ground with an ass slap and proceeds to sexually pleasure Mukuro through her skirt from behind with the heel of her boot, with Mukuro having no qualms with this, blushing with a look of pleasure on her face. It's never even made clear why she does this, as Mukuro clearly isn't in despair over it and Izuru maintains his staunch policy of not caring about messed up events happening in front of him.

    Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
  • Good luck finding somebody who ships Korekiyo with his sister.
    • Quite frankly, any ship involving Korekiyo gets this reaction after Chapter 3's reveal of him being a Serial Killer.
  • Similarly, all ships involving Tsumugi can get this reaction due to her being the Big Bad of this game.
  • A number of the love hotel scenes reek of this. Korekiyo's, Miu's and Angie's all have blatant rape overtones, and Tenko's is quite uncomfortable for many since, while the whole thing is a delusion, the game otherwise implies she's a lesbian (on top of her disgust towards men).
  • Several ships involving Kokichi have gotten this treatment (except for Kokichi/Shuichi), especially Kokichi/Gonta due to the manipulative way Kokichi takes advantage of Gonta in-game.
