Skye Alexandria Sweetnam (born May 5, 1988) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and music video director.

Skye began her career as a pop (specifically, teen pop) and pop punk musician. She released two albums: Noise from the Basement (2004) and Sound Soldier (2007). Skye also performed music for various shows such as Wayside and The Buzz on Maggie. She provided the singing voice for Barbie in The Barbie Diaries, which also features several of her songs.

After the release of her second album, Skye found herself outgrowing being a "teen pop star" and began to explore elsewhere. In 2009, she formed the Alternative Metal/Punk Rock band Sumo Cyco. As of 2011, she goes by the Stage Name "Sever".

This singer provides examples of:

  • Cloudcuckoolander: "Sharada" is about a teenager with her heads in the clouds who wants to be famous one day.
  • School Is for Losers: "Billy S" is about a girl who just wants to listen to music and rebel, not do English schoolwork. The title refers to William Shakespeare (AKA, "Billy Shakespeare").
  • Tsundere: "Tangled Up In Me" is about a woman who gives mixed-signals to someone she likes.
