The original Blue's Clues had tons of heartwarming moments from time to time, so it's only logical the reboot would too.

     Season 1
Meet Josh!
  • Josh calls an older Steve and Joe (working for a detective agency and the present store respectively and mentioned to be Josh's cousins) to ask for some tips with Blue. Steve asks the audience to look after Josh, as he's likely gonna need help like he and Joe did.
  • Even more heartwarming if you take Steve's request in this way: he's not just talking to the young new viewers. He's also talking to the adults who grew up watching the original Blue's Clues. Ever after all this time, he still sees them as his friends. Numerous (adult) fans have commented about how they cried at those words.
Steve: (to viewers) Hi! So... will you help my cousin, Josh? (Beat) You will? Great, because.. I can tell he's gonna need a lotta help... like I did.
    Joe: And like I did.
    Steve: Right!
Steve and Joe: (as they sign Thanks) Thanks.
    • For those who remembered the ASL-based episodes, many were so happy to see Steve and Joe sign "Thanks" before the call ends. In later episodes, Josh also picks up this good habit.
  • Steve being a detective is more heartwarming when you remember that in Blue's Big Musical Movie he was sad to realize that he had never found a clue by himself and was ecstatic to finally find one, he now has a career in finding and solving clues all by himself.
  • Even though he was considered the Replacement Scrappy when he was introduced, old fans were just as happy to see Joe as they were with Steve.
  • Steve and Joe's reactions when they realize that Josh got the hang of playing Blue's Clues so quickly is heartwarming in of itself. The two brothers even hug each other.
  • A subtle cherry-on-top: when Joe and Steve each answer the call, the first few notes of their respective eras' theme tunes play.
  • When the "Mailtime" song starts up Josh is over the moon:

Playdate with Magenta

  • Blue and Magenta's friendship is just as strong as it's always been, playing around on the couch before taking a group photo.
  • Josh's excitement at being the first clue. If you thought Steve's reaction in the original episode was over the top, you haven't seen nothing yet.

Big News with Blue

  • The titular news? Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper have just had twins. They allow Josh to hold baby Sage and Ginger for a bit before passing them off to their proud big siblings Paprika and Cinnamon, and Blue drew a picture welcoming them to the family.

Happy Birthday Blue

  • Joe showing up at Blue's birthday party to deliver Josh's present for her

ABC's with Blue

  • When baby twins Sage and Ginger are crying because they're getting hungry, Josh cheers them up by tickling them. It makes you think about how Steve used to do that to Paprika.

123's with Blue

  • Josh and Joe singing "The So Long Song" together.

Sad Day with Blue

  • After seeing Blue being so unhappy, Josh states that playing Blue's Clues will really help her. A little later, we get this line from him:
Josh: You know, I'm really gonna need your help today trying to figure out why Blue is sad. I don't like it when Blue is sad... You will help right? (Beat) You will? Oh, great! Thanks!
  • Blue and Magenta patching things up after their fallout. Blue also gives Josh a lick to say thank you for supporting her.

Getting Glasses with Magenta!

  • Magenta joins her best friend for Blue's Clues this time, with both their pawprints posted on clues.

Bluestock

  • Just as Josh says "We just figured out Blue's Clues", Joe jumps on stage, and the two cousins sing "We Sat On Down" together.

     Season 2
Sleepy Singalong with Blue
  • During mailtime, Josh receives an e-mail from his Lola.
  • The episode ends with Josh singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Blue. He later sings a verse about how much he loves Blue, and gives her a kiss before singing the So Long song.
Blue's Big Imagination
  • Josh realizes that Mr. Salt has difficulty using his imagination and spends the episode worrying about him, and trying to help him. When he finally manages to help Mr. Salt use his imagination, the salt shaker seems happier than ever.
Blue's Anywhere Box Surprise
  • Josh shows us his lucky sock at the beginning of the episode. He then explains that he considers it lucky because he was wearing it the day he met Blue.
It's Your Birthday!
  • The entire episode. Its main premise is that Josh and Blue are hosting a pretend birthday party for us, the audience. As such, we're more involved in the episode than usual. Given that the episode also aired around the time of the franchise's 25th anniversary, this can also be seen as Josh and Blue thanking us for sticking with them for so long.
  • We play a game of Pin the Tail On the Puppy, and, with Josh's help, manage to win by putting the tail on exactly the right spot.
  • At mailtime, the viewers receive their very own letter. That's right, for the first time in the series, the letter is addressed to us, with the children in the letter speaking directly to the viewers wishing them a happy birthday.

     Season 3
Our New Neighbor!
  • Periwinkle is thrown a party to help him feel at home in his new neighborhood, using the things they've learned about him over the episode.

Blue's Mystery Present

  • After forgetting to bring the Notebook Phone, Joe lets Josh borrow his old notebook for the day, stating that that's what cousins do for each other.

Blue and Little Rainbow Riding Hood

  • For the first time ever in the franchise, the answer to Blue's Clues is the viewers.
  • Before the play starts, Josh gives us some words of encouragement. Helping is that Joshua Dela Cruz himself is a Broadway actor.
Josh: You're going out there a friend, but you're coming back a star! I'm already So Proud of You! Come on!

The Mailtime Mystery

  • Who was the mystery letter for? Mailbox. What follows is a surprise guest appearance from Steve and Joe, who sing an extended version of the Mailtime song about how much they appreciate him.

     Season 4

Thank You Day

  • It's revealed that Miranda moved into the neighborhood as a child, but had no one to play soccer with. The next day, she met Magenta, and they became best friends.

Night at the Blueseum

  • After everyone discovers that Blue's masterpiece is missing, Josh implies that perhaps someone stole the painting, and Mr. Salt is quick to disagree, stating that it was probably an accident. When it is revealed that Josh himself accidentally took the painting, Mr. Salt makes a quick joke at the irony, but everyone is quick to forgive him.

The Case of the Missing Thinking Chair

  • It's revealed that the person who stole the Thinking Chair is Joe, but only because he wanted to throw a family barbecue because he missed Steve and Josh.

The Big Blue Derby

  • Slick, Slippery's cousin, while a bit arrogant and Innocently Insensitive, never actually acts with any malice and is genuinely a Nice Guy who just wants to have fun with his cousin.
  • The concept of the episode is Blue helping his race competitor, Slippery, perform better. Instead of focusing on winning, Blue prioritizes her friends' happiness.
  • When Slippery's car breaks down before the race, Rainbow Puppy stops everything she's doing to give Josh instructions on how to be a mechanic.
  • When Slick has an accident during the race, Slippery's first reaction is to stop to help him.

Josh's Crummy Day

  • During the episode, everyone tries to help Josh get better from his crummy day.
    • When he picks up his notebook, Sidetable gives him tips on breathing exercises
    • Shovel and Pail help Josh exercise to de-stress and keep an eye on him to prevent him from getting hurt
    • Instead of getting a letter or an email at mailtime, Josh gets a Singing Telegram from Mailbox hoping his day gets better.
  • At the Bad Day Café, Josh and Blue help Humpty Dumpty and Sour Puss improve their days. When both leave the establishment they both get together amicably on Humpty Dumpty's wall to have some lemonade. This vision of kindness is enough to make the grumpy Greasy Spoon change her worldview, and change the name of her café to Good Day Café.
  • At the end of the episode everyone joins Josh in a happy dance about how there is always hope for a bad day to get better.

     Other
  • This video released a day before the show's 25th anniversary has Steve talk to the viewer about how abruptly he left for college, and how in the time that has passed since the end of the original series, he and the viewer have accomplished many of the things that they wanted to do, and that all of the viewers help in the original series is still helping him today. And to top it all off, he ends the video saying that he never forgot the viewer.
    • On the 25th anniversary itself, a new song was posted showing kids and adults alike sharing fanart and pictures over the years.
