Funny / Life Is Strange: True Colors

  • During the scene in the flower shop where Gabe buys an apology bouquet for Charlotte, he and Alex can engage in some gnome-themed puns, much to the chagrin of store worker Riley:
Gabe: [After Alex puts sunglasses on the lawn gnome] That guy's bad to the gnome.
Alex: Right? I heard he won the Gnome-bel Peace Prize.
    Riley: Oh God, please stop.
    Alex: [Beat] Gnome problem.
  • Gabe claims to be way cooler than just a dad to Ethan, prompting Alex to compare him to the Hobbes to Ethan's Calvin... only that Gabe is dating Ethan's mom. Gabe tells her that she clearly hasn't read his Slash Fic.
  • Scrolling through the social media page on Alex's phone shows a birthday post for Ryan from Gabe... who promptly jokes about how his best friend is nearing fifty. Even Ryan's dad gets in on the fun.
Ryan: How old is this joke?
Jed: Not as old as you.
    Ryan: Dad!
  • Steph and Ryan's plan to distract Diane... which basically amounts to one of them asking out Diane on a date. Alex's reaction as she learns both of them have the same idea seals the deal.
  • Building off the above decision, during the LARP Steph will either be fearful that Alex was kidding when she said Steph was hot, or frustrated by the idea that Alex is more attracted to Ryan. Either way, Alex can then reassure her by offering her hand in marriage and its associated benefits in exchange for the LARP MacGuffin. Steph reaches a genuine loss of words and her aura afterward shows her shouting 'I do!' over and over again in her head.
    • The flirtatious wink that Alex leaves Steph with is just the icing on the cake.
    • Ethan's reaction can basically sum up how everyone who ships the duo was feeling:
Ethan: Oh man. This just got real.
  • If the player explores Duckie's aura in chapter 3 during the LARP, he's giddy at the idea of being alone behind the bar at the Black Lantern.
    • His tale of how he survived the monster attack he tripped an elderly woman and the look on Ethan's face in response.
  • The blacksmith outside the Magpie Emporium has an angry aura about him. Alex reading him will reveal that he's REALLY into his character.
  • Ryan takes several monster roles during the LARP, including that of a snake. Luckily, Alex may be able to get a bell from Duckie that puts him to sleep. Cue Ryan breaking character to point out how a snake's ears are internal before Alex rings the bell even faster to quiet him.
    • Plus if you use the "Troll Dust" to befriend the troll during the LARP, Ryan's shirt will still be covered in glitter every time he appears for the rest of the event.
  • As Alex arrives at the Spring Festival, she comes across Steph and Ryan testing the microphone. When Steph sees Alex, she has a brief Squee reaction to her wearing a skirt... which promptly gets blasted over the loudspeaker.
    • This interaction as well:
      Alex: Who else is playing?
Steph and Ryan: [stare at her with gleeful expressions]
Alex: Steph... [more seriously] Who else is playing?
[Answer Cut to Alex standing on stage with a guitar]
      Alex: I hate you both.
  • An extremely poignant moment with Ryan occurs at the end of chapter 2, where Alex discovers the joy aura for the first time. Unfortunately, a common bug can impede the moment, as well as call to mind a certain meme associated with dominance.
  • While the entire backstory sequence is primarily a combination of nightmare fuel and tearjerkers, Alex stating that she doesn't belong in foster care only for Dr. Lynn to respond that if that were the case she wouldn't be talking to an empty chair (cue camera panning around to reveal Alex is indeed alone in the office) is absurd enough to be funny.
  • The game has a mode for streamers and lets-players where they can turn off licensed music so that their streams and videos don't get hit with DMCA claims. Sounds like a good feature to have, right? Well, when you have scenes that depend very heavily on there being said licensed music playing...
  • Wavelengths has a couple of funny moments of its own.
    • While it does suck that Steph doesn't exactly have the best results for finding a girlfriend (at least before meeting Alex), Wavelengths does have amusing moments where she seems confused about the situation she's in when matching with someone, such as messing around with what is clearly a bot, accidentally matching with a straight woman, and being the target of a couple looking for a threesome.
    • While operating the DJ booth, Steph can throw sticky dinosaurs at her bulletin board. Examining them can lead to some humorous remarks by Steph.
      "Watch out for sticky meteorites!"
"Never look a gift stegosaurus in the mouth."
    • In the spot where Steph's drumkit will be during the main game, there's a pile of boxes instead that Steph has to clear out. During the first scene, this pile is labelled as "boxes". As the scenes progress this becomes "fewer boxes" and "even fewer boxes". During the final scene, Stepth simply notes that she's done cleaning the pile up even further.
    • One of the ads Steph has to read for is for a job searching portal, www.PutToWorkColorado.com. Typing this address into your actual web browser will direct you to, well... why don't you find out?
